The Five Kages and Madara: Discussion About Good & Evil and in Between

I was watching a video just now on youtube. I know many of you PS3 owners know about this video already and its been around for a while but seeing it (since I don't own it; I want to though) made me think more deeply on how powerful Madara was and how much was riding on the Five Kage's success. I got to admit Madara is a beast but the Kages were able to pull together and get in some attacks that in a non-edo state would have been Madara's downfall.

I can only imagine the feeling of fighting an opponent you know you can't win against. Even more scary is fighting one that knows how to taunt you psychologically. Madara was quite confident in his power. I can understand that since he deserved it. Although the upgrades weren't originally his but his prowess in manipulating that power is...really scary. I could imagine myself as one of the Kages and having to face someone like him. I would crap my pants. I makes it worse when he laughs lol.

Naruto has a lot riding on his shoulders and I think he knows inside that he can't hide it anymore. He knows he might win but there is always that possibility that he can die. But isn't that what being a shinobi is all about. Enduring and fighting with all your might against the forces of evil. I know in our world, and the Naruto world in parallel, that not everything is as black and white as it first seems. There are shades of gray with give it more depth. Not everyone is evil but in turn not everyone is essentially good either. These parts all connect and make our universe what it is. And now that we are dealing with Obito who calls to question our interpretation of being "grey", we are asked to take a closer look at ourselves and decide on what truly matters.

I just wanted to share that with you and want to hear your opinions. I want to know what you think about your beliefs on good, evil and the in between. And anything you want to share. ^^

Video if you wanna watch...

Obito isn't "in between".

A man who tries to kill a new born child right before the eyes of his parents for the sole purpose of having Minato & Kushina feel the "same" despair as him isn't "in between"

I have notice that there isnt such thing as evil only a difference of opinions and perspective, even orochimaru had reason to be what he is now.

Yet in the same token he wanted a world where people don't have to suffer anymore and will be free from persecution. That and his road of carnage put him in a grey area. He wants to help people but is willing to sacrifice what needs to be to achieve his goal. Just like Danzo.

I don't think you understand what "grey" means.

Grey = Neutral. Someone who is simply there.

Obito and Madara are evil, profoundly immoral and malevolent.

This concept of "grey" does not exist even in our world. People claim it does.. but sadly no. Danzo was a evil man, until his death where like all the villains he realized what he had done wrong.

When you kill someone who is preaching peace .... your automatically saying your against it.

people not suffering? WTF are you saying? So killing Naruto in front of his parents wouldn't make them suffer?! No, he's EVIL in every sense of the word, he isn't fighting for peace, he's only trying to escape reality and take everyone with him.

He wasn't thinking about them. He was thinking probably of people yet to come or people he felt were oppressed by the shinobi system. I know people were suffering. Nagato believed the same in saving people through force to achieve his goals. However they were manipulated and thankfully was dissuaded by Naruto. Peace is different to everyone. Obito believed in casting the genjutsu that many people would be spared a sorrowful existence. I agree with you on the part that he is escaping/evading reality but isn't his desire to help people still qualify as fighting for peace? It may not fit our cookie-cutter version but nonetheless its goal is the same in some shape or form.
