Generally I am not impressed with the direction Kishimoto has taken and I am finding the current turn of events to basically be more of the same sh!# we have been reading for 6 years or so, but it is his manga so there you have it.

Having said that, this caught my attention somewhat. Naruto has matured intellectually and I have thought since the SO6P power-ups chapter that he is less susceptible to jutsus that worked on a younger, less developed Naruto. He demonstrated this in the kaguya fight arc, where he began basically by easily pealing BZ off himself and suckske, where others struggled with BZ possession. In this chapter he demonstrate he can easily recognize genjitsu, which I also guess means that genjitsu will no longer really work on Naruto. That is something he has been working on, of course, since Jiraiya was still alive, so no surprise now. In this panel, he basically talks about it as if it a toy used to tease with a house cat.

One more thing...this is the kind of thing that makes me really dislike the suckuraw character:

Two things:

1. Grow up already, would you please? Kishimoto has not matured the character at all.
2. Just more of the same crap...boring already.

All my opinion. Agree or not, of little consequence. I am just sharing the perspective of one reader.

Sakura's love for Sasuke is truly astonishing, same can be said for Naruto actually.

Sakura's character has not developed or evolved at all since the start of the series. Not sure why Kishi doesn't put more effort into her, he's obviously capable of incredible character development. It's like Sakura is frozen in time.

People can call it a "great love," but the character is 17 now and at an age where she should be able to discern that what she thought she loved when she was 12 is not what that person is now. Actually, suckske should be turning her stomach by now.

Not really the same for Naruto. He is trying to save a friend from himself and that friend is falling further into evil (of hate). So he is more be stubborn about saving a lost cause. That is very different.

I will call the character whatever I damn well please, but to help calm down your butthurt, I offer this:

Bad Sakura = Suckuraw
Good Sakura = Sakura (assuming Kishimoto develops her into a likable character)

This, by the way, is the same as my terms of endearment for suckske:

Good Sasuke = Sasuke (this is the Sasuke before he threw a tantrum on the roof, just before leaving the village)
Bad Sasuke = suckske (Kishimoto had a chance to change him back to good suckske and blew it in chapter 692)

If you think Naruto's feeling for his friend is the same as the infatuation of romantic love that suckuraw has for suckske, you have completely misread and misinterpreted hundreds of chapters. Try again.
