That devolves his eyes from the tomoed Rinnegan (dual regular Rinnegan) to non tomoed Rinnegan (single regular Rinnegan). He can use basic short distance Ameno but not large scale Ameno or the Six Paths techniques. Just like Madara, with one Rinnegan (non tomoed Rinnegan for Sasuke), he could use 1 Limbo (like Sasuke could use short distance Ameno) but not Six Paths techniques (So Sasuke couldn't use Six Paths techniques as well), Madara needed both for using Chibaku Tensei (like Sasuke needs tomoed Rinnegan for it), and after getting both Rinnegans (tomoed Rinengan for Sasuke), his Limbo increased from 1 to 5 (Sasuke's range of Ameno increased tremendously for teleportation to Kaguya's dimensions).
Several other rinnegan tech were available for him to use like basho tenin for example. saying that he could use ameno which quit apparently requires cool down, but he couldn't use the paths is really ridiculous. And anyway his shunshin should've done the job way easier if we go by feats ,there's also chidori nagashi which would stop the knifes from going to sarada. Even one limb from souano would be enough but no.

If Six Paths abilities can't be used without the tomoes (or two Rinnegans in that case), what's so ridiculous in that? It's the limitation of his eyes, not my understanding. It could be possible that he could use Six Paths techniques on a small scale with the non tomoed Rinnegan, but it hasn't been shown by anyone yet so it's better not to make assumptions in that regard.

The blades approached Sarada from the back. Sasuke was standing on her front. So it was the complete opposite direction. Chidori Nagashi would have taken Sarada as well if Sasuke was stupid enough to use it to stop the blades.
I don't know it exactly but it appeared that MS couldn't be activated at that time as well. So I don't know if creating Susanoo was possible or not.

He could create one shadow, but you on other hand is trying to imply that once you rinnegan is tomoeless, you cannot perform any rinnegan tech or paths despite how insignificant it is, which is kinda ........you know...........bullshit....no offense.

that fodder is the father of all fodder villain. i just wasted my precious time reading this gaiden knowing in the end that fodder shin got MS that all it does is control swords, katana, and kunai and it doesnt do anything special, and in the end the fodder Sakura and her adopted daughter destroyed them with punches that for the first time in the history of naruto, a villain with MS for like 20 eyes in a body and Mini Juubi will actually die on a single punch of a fodder. how lame!
