If Himawari was able to unlock her Byakugan, I don't see why Boruto wouldn't be able to unlock the Byakugan, unless, of course, it is to benefit an Uchiha (plot) as the the author of this series has always done.

Originally, Boruto was supposed to have lavender-colored eyes. He most likely won't get the Byakugan but he will still be powerful depending on what the new writer will do.

And, I was further explaining that the Byakugan would have manifested through any strong emotion, such as sadness too. However it didn't, meaning that it only seems to spawn through anger as seen through Himawari (I-E - Bolt finding out that his father 'died'). Anyway, Boruto had enough scenes to activate the Byakugan, the former being when he found out Naruto didn't even attend Himawair's birthday himself.

But clearly his anger isn't warranted because Himawari nor his father are more important than a stuffed animal. Excuse me ~

There was another thread that went into depth on this subject. Many of agreed that Himawari and Boruto are special cases because they are half Hyuga. Something that has never happened before. We know pure bred Hyuga are born with the Byakugan but since Naruto's kids are only half Hyuga they may need to unlock it.

I would be more than happy to see Boruto wiuth the byakugan !! It would do awesome for his offensive and more than that defensive skill set

Maybe Boruto and Himawari are special cases when it come to the byakugan. The genes they lake from not being full blooded could be overtaken by Naruto and his super Kurama skeet to where they will eventually.

It's never been done before so that's why it doesn't sound possible. Blame the hyuuga for only dating their own.Or blame Mr Moto for sleeping on the Hyuuga this entire series.
