I cannot believe they killed off Sigurd from Vikings. He was supposed to be a great king and commander of the Great Heathen Army. What the hell, man! Sigurd was one of the few important to the story, including its future. I mean COME THE HELL ON!

This show has gone downhill since Travis Fimmel's departure. I know Sigurd was a bit of an assh*le, who barely had any feelings for his selfish, manipulative mother and always the one to tear Ivar down, but this was bulls*it!

According to history, Sigurd the Snake-Eye took King Ella's daughter, Heluna, Princess of England, as his wife. They had two children, Aslaug Sigurdsdottir and Harde-Knud Sigurdsson, who became King of Denmark and Sweden. The writers just basically screwed themselves out of a good subplot.

I know, but it was very stupid of the writers to kill of Sigurd. He would've progressed the story even more with his journey, but nope.

Well not totally, we don't know if Ragnar existed or not nor do we really know if those who claimed to be his sons were actually his sons but yea the historical context is accurate after Ragnar died.

I was browsing the top topics quick and saw this thread. At least put vikings on your title or as your first sentence kid.

This could very well be just Ivar's imagination running wild...I dunno, it won't be the 1st time the show has dwelled into such thing. And even if it's real, we dunno the exact fate of Sigurd, as it was the penultimate scene of the episode, he could just have sustained a major injury is all and fainted from the pain.

I'm honestly surprised that they killed Sigurd. I always thought because he had the Snake in the Eye that he was going to be special among the Ragnar sons. It's disappointing that his character had so little value, especially compared to the other sons. I mean Sigurd had more screen time and lines than Hvitserk.

Not only that, but Vikings has been somewhat relatively close historical records up until recently, at least passably so, but killing Sigurd seems to deviant way off considering that he apparently was a lord later on his life that owned land and had children.

He was a legendary figure in Viking history. But in the show, he hasn't done anything to constitute that legendary status aside for being a son of Ragnar.

Personally I would prefer Sigurd over Hvitserk and Ubbe. He was just a much more interesting and witty character than both.
