EMS is just the addition of another light..In other words another Mangekyou sharingan....He just said that his brothers died but based on the earlier chapters we have seen that Madara and Izuna train and got to a pretty adult age before Izuna offered his eyes to Madara and ultimately died......At that age if we compared the height and hair style of Madara to that of the pictures seen in Itachi's and Tobi flashbacks and illustrations he already has the 3 tome sharigan but not the Mangekyou yet......

Just abit confusing. That means Izuna is alot younger than I thought. Must have been rough for him to train with an 8 years older Madara all day. Poor kids.

Anyway, in the recent chapter, Madara had no sharingan yet I think. It will all come later. This chapter only had the purpose to show that there was a time when he was friends with Hashirama and that they both wanted the same till certain events, that still have to be shown, broke their friendship. It's great how Kishi builds it up. Make the bad guy more and more human and explainable so an epic ending will come.

Stop thinking in todays 1 to 2 Children per household stuff, In the good old days living to be 30 was like getting to be 65 today. So families back then parents had 10,12 or more Children's, many infant mortally was an every day thing, people died in war, at work on a regular base.
