Mercer.. this is really a good continuation to Z. It has its flaws, but thanks god there's something to watch, as a DBZ fan. It's really different from Z, the plot is a lot more mature... i reccomend to watch it before flame it
You really should give it a try, if you haven't already. I think it's actually pretty damn great now, this arc right now is pretty awesome, Zamasu\Black have a lot of potential as villains. It does get pretty cheesy at times with the Pilaf gang, can't say I remember so many cringe moments, but overall it's worth it. Especially once it gets dubbed.
It's a lot less cheesy than the actual DBZ. Just compare the pacing of the two.
I feel like Super has more childish jokes. Or maybe it just seems that way to me with their voices in Japanese, but it has a huge cringe factor at times. I never got the feeling I was watching a kids show at any point in DBZ, and I do occasionally feel that way now. But don't get me wrong, I still love it. Much better pacing like you said, and the story is really picking up now. Now if only they could have a bit more consistent animation quality, I really wouldn't have any complaints.
I wouldn't recommend it. Its best to watch other anime instead. DB Super is nothing more than a hype machine.
