Split in the village = Split in the Base?

So I know this seems really insignificant and downright unnecessary, but are we a real world representation of how the village felt?

What I mean by this is "Do you think the rest of the clans of the newly formed village feel the same about Madara and the Uchiha clan as we, the fans, do? You notice the people on the Base; some are defending Madara and calling Tobirama the cause of all the problems, while many say Tobirama was right and Madara was being childish.

Do you think people of the village saw it this way? Or perhaps did the leadership of Konoha start the rumors of Madara's evil defection and perhaps enhancing his evil to be the boogeyman we know of today?

Or are we still missing too much of the story? Thoughts are appreciated. Oh and comments, those are too. And so are sandwiches.

I think it is hard to say which one was right and which one was wrong, both suffered losses at the hands of the opposing clan, it could easily have been Tobimara who died fighting Izuna, how would Hashirama have felt without his last brother?

Good point, although I do think that Hashirama would have taken the high road about it. Tobirama's story about the love of Uchiha being selfish love can't be completely false.

tobirama was not in the wrong, its called being a realist and keeping it real even when you know the person doesnt want to hear the truth.

what made madara the way he is, is the uchiha clan turning their back on him and his brothers dieing and the shameless defeat against hashirama countless of times. Add that all up and you get a big bowl of ignorance.

Most of the village probably would have been on Tobirama's side. No one liked Madara. He was overly paranoid and even his own clan turned their backs on him.

I don't think that personally. It just seems like a common theme on threads today.

well, madara had his evil streak coming, it was just a matter of time. All tobirama did was give him a little push and helped him find his path faster. still, tobirama was kinda too zealous about the whole uchiha thing

to me it made madaras motives more legit. he did predict the slaughter of the uchiha as it happened. i still believe two wrongs dont make a right but the line between good and bad has been made more of a blur
