Where in the history of Naruto Manga is it ever stated speed values are based on real world values? There are so many inconsistent speed feats in this series its nearly impossible to know how fast the people really are. With this said can we stop over exaggerating speed?

I don't know lol.. but Naruto was my first anime and i remember thinking "Wow" with regards to speed in the Forest of Death.

Tbh thinking about it again, it makes me wonder how fast the main characters are in the war arc if mere genin are faster than the speed of sound xD

] And Sasuke ends up not only dodging one of those attacks while carrying both Naruto and Sakura (albeit with the curse mark), he appears behind Zaku almost immediately [

Some amount of Physics laws are sacrificed for obvious reasons. Example: Sasuke's Shurikens are stated to be lightning quick

New to Manga?
The authors intentionally slow down their speed for us to perceive what's going on.
Characters like Goku can move at speed beyond light, yet his movement when depicted on the manga seem anything slow but that.
Haha yes it does, even the Jonin in p1 would be faster than sound. Gai's punches in 6G (i think Asakujaku) should be hypersonic since it sorts of imitate re-entry level speeds. Narutoverse speed stuff is crazy and i hear/read speed related stuff in Dragon ball is even crazier XD
Not even fanfic writers would make such a statement that would portray themselves as being unable to use their brains to think. XD

I hope it's not that argument which says "Itachi only needs to react to Sasuke's hand movement...."
Because I can use that in my favour: Naruto dodged Madara's head moving sidewards and not the light attack right...?
