I succeeded in defeating the guards outside the village. Konan and I prepared to launch Animal pain into the city to begin the search of the Kyuubi and the destruction of the place I so detested. When Preta pain saw a kunai flying toward Deva. I moved him out of the way and faced the direction in which the attack came from.
"Who goes there?" I spoke through Deva. As I spoke, a crow flew past me, followed by a flash of red. For a moment, Tendo became paralyzed and unresponsive. I used Asura to break the genjutsu connection and regain control. "Uchiha Itachi. So I see you have made your move."
"How long did you know I was following you?" The red eyed Uchiha said as he stepped out from behind a tree.
"Since I left Amegakure, I could sense your chakra. You think I would surround myself with Assassins and mercenaries without learning a little about each of them? Tendo asked him. "What is your purpose?"
"I cannot allow you to attack Konoha. Allow me to capture the Kyuubi," he requested.
"Your previous failure shows me that you are incapable. In any case, I have a vendetta here."
"I cannot allow you to destroy Konohagakure."
"I have a feeling that you are soft for this place Itachi. In general, I loath all those who are from Konoha. But I always respected you. Destroying your own, and the effects it caused on you, has surely taught you pain. But if you are in Akatsuki only to defend Konoha, then you are useless to my plan."
"Very well, since you will not listen, then I must defeat you for the sake of my home."
"You may try. Though you know a little pain, you do not possess enough to destroy the god of pain. And do not bother with those mortal genjutsu. Though you caught one pain off guard, now that I have seen that trick, another sneak attack of the same magnitude will not work. Pain has developed methods of dealing with mortal genjutsu."
"Very well," Itachi said as he weaved the hand seals of the fire ball jutsu, one that I knew well. "Katon: Gokokyo no Jutsu (Great fireball technique)" he said as he unleashed a large fireball. Preta pain stepped in front, holding out his hand and easily absorbing the technique.
"Itachi, though you are traitorous, I shall give you full respect for the courage you have shown in facing me. I will grant you a warrior's death," I said as Asura jumped up with all 6 arms and it's saw tail revealed, preparing to pounce on Itachi.
"Do you honestly believe I would so greatly underestimate the Rinnegan," he said as he closed his eyes. A streak of blood dripped down his cheek as he opened his eyes, revealing the change into mangekyou sharingan. "Amaterasu!" Asura suddenly bursted into black flames and fell to the ground with a metal crunching thud. I watched as the metal body began to burn into ash.
"I see. Konan, leave and patrol around the wall to be sure nobody intervenes or discovers that we are here," I said as she nodded and flew away. Along with her, I also made my other two pains evacuate taking the ashes of Asura, and leaving only Deva, Animal, and Preta. "Now then Uchiha Itachi. Shall we begin in earnest?" I asked as animal slammed her hands to the ground, summoning the giant Cerberus, the twisted bird and the chameleon. The female pain jumped in the chameleon's mouth and disappeared. I sent out the Cerberus first. Itachi attacked it with a fireball jutsu, causing it to divide and attack at further angles. The bird began to drop egg bombs on him. Itachi jumped back into the forest for cover. "I see, but that will not stop me. Shinra Tensei!" Tendo said as a massive chunk of the woods were destroyed. I spotted him and threw a chakra disruption blade at him, spearing him through the shoulder and attaching him to a tree. Suddenly his body seperated into crows and reformed back in the grove where we started. He tried to attack Tendo in the back of the head, but I made him dodge after seeing Itachi's movement through the bird's eye. I grabbed him by the arm and shot another blade from my arm, and into his, latching him to the ground. I held Tendo's pain to his face. "Shinra Tensei!"
With a tremendous crack, Itachi's head shot backwards, breaking every bone in his neck and halfway down his spine. But suddenly the body turned to water and began to bubble.
"A water clone. I looked past the clone to see Itachi standing on a tall tree. The chakra in the clone began to well up and caught me. It built up pressure until it exploded with a massive flow of water, catching Tendo in the process.
Itachi looked down on me, seeing that I used Preta to absorb the blast at the last moment.
"Why is it that you didn't simply repel the clone? Or is it that even a god's jutsu has at least a cool down period? I am guessing about 5 seconds, but possibly more stronger variations," he said aloud.
"How perceptive. But it won't do you any good," I said as Asura jumped up and unleashed a flurry of missiles on Itachi. He evaded it but only barely as Asura began to chase down Itachi, using it's saw bladed tail to slash at him. Itachi managed to get away.
"How is it that this pain remains alive.? I watched it burn," Itachi managed to say between dodging.
"Your mistake was letting the other pain's hide themselves. Once they are deactivated, your eyes cannot see their chakra. As long as they are hidden I hold the advantage." Itachi managed to pull away and get a good position.
"This will be difficult then. To defeat you when you hold a clear strategic advantage. In that case I will have to act accordingly," he said as he closed his eyes. Blood once again trailed down his face, but from the other eye this time. "Tsukuyomi!" He said as he looked into Tendo's eyes. Suddenly, all of my Pain's became inactive, leaving only my shared vision. I was unable to control any of them. I watched as Itachi raised up his Kunai and stabbed each of my Pain's in the throat, disabling each of them, even the animal path, which was revealed when I could no longer keep the summons active and hide her.
Itachi began to walk away, proud that he saved his village, but he stopped suddenly when he felt a hand on his head. The hand of the human path rested on his scalp, and grabbed a hold of his soul.
"I warned you that you could not defeat my pains that I personally deactivate. I just waited until you released your genjutsu to strike," I spoke through the human path. I also brought out the Naraka path, and forced Itachi to watch as I revived all of my pain's that he destroyed. "One move and I rip out your soul!"
"Is that so?" he asked. "Susanoo!" Suddenly a chakra skeleton appeared around him. It had four powerful arms and made a protective shield that Human path could not reach through. It grew in size, gaining armor, a shield and a sword.
"So this is the mighty Susanoo, I Have heard of it. But this is my first time seeing it in person," I sent Asura forward who attacked the charka armor with all of it's missiles and even it's energy cannon, which only seemed to knock back the chakra structure. Itachi used the shield to block the attacks and received no damage. "Fine in that case, I shall be forced to end you the hard way. Bansho tennin!" Deva said as Itach flew out of his susanoo and flew towards Preta, who began to absorb his chakra. Itachi used substitution jutsu and re-appeared in his susanoo. He moved to pierce Deva with the sword. I prepared to block it with Shinra Tensei, but suddenly he changed directions and the sword pierced Naraka, and absorbed his body into the sword's hilt. He then slashed Asura, Preta, and human as well, drawing them into the sword. I placed Deva in front of Animal and prepared for his attack. He launched the blade toward Deva.
"Shinra Tensei!" I screamed, sending the massive being backwards and blocking the attack. Animal slammed her hands on the ground and the 4 lost pains appeared behind Deva.
"I see, so that Pain can even summon your other Pains. Very Clever Nagato."
"So you do know who I am. Sometimes you amaze me, Uchiha Itachi."
After finishing my statement, the susanoo vanished and Itachi couphed up blood. "So, the mighty Itachi does have an achilles heel. It seems we both wield jutsu that slowly deminish our lives. It seems you and I are a lot alike in that aspect. Itachi stood up and used Body flicker to flee. "Well, now that that nuisance is out of the way. I may continue.

"Forgive me Naruto. I only hope I bought you enough time," I said as I ran back to my hide out, to begin preparations fro my brother.
