Making fillers arcs between very intense canon moments that made alot of people drop it. remember infinite tsukoyomi? chunin exams? cancerous af

Starting it off in the academy days ignoring the main plot for 50 episodes . making alot of fans get bored from it and drop it. Boruto anime from the start has been directionless. Took them 50 episodes to REALLY start the main story.

But fillers are made so long (and so painfully dull) in order to give the manga time to move ahead so they have canon material to animate. Back in Naruto part I and Bleach post Byakuya fight, the anime shot ahead of the manga.

For naruto it eneded up creating 2 years of fillers which got it cancelled here in the states because viewers dropped it as you mentioned above.

Bleach ended up with that terrible arc with those weird German named people and the same almost happened to it in the states once again.

So to stop that from Happening ( and keep the money flowing) they stuffed shorter filler arcs in between major canon events.

But in the end, as you said, it all comes down to the money.

That wasn't what happened at the end of Shippuden though. It was purely profit oriented at that point. The manga ended in November 2014, meaning they didn't need to stall anymore, but even then they still released over 60 filler episodes.

I'm gonna tell everyone here a secret. If I had the power, then I would re-animate part 1 and part 2 together with the same score but without any fillers, I wouldn't even extend fight scenes or have overly long shots of scenery. I would go by the manga and divide chapters either from the books or where it fits, maybe an episode would be 20 min or even 40 min but basically, redo the 15 year long saga as one cohesive story.
That's what I would do.

Or studios stop producing anime to go along with the source material and instead either A. wait until completion to adapt or B. create completely new scripts and not include any canon material.

Naruto and Bleach already fell into bad writing themselves, so fillers for extra content isn't something I'm opposed to, even in Bolt. Only one of these 4 that's actually trash is TG and that's because they strayed away from the manga. I am hoping they go the FMAB route and remake a new anime series that follows the manga.

That’s why I noted part I. Part II’s ending was just a disaster I agree.
