Man oh man, what do I know about Sound...well let’s start off with the basics. Ototon was originally seen as elemental release of wind and lightning but was eventually changed into simply an advance form of ninjutsu. The ninjutsu takes advantage of one’s chakra, using it create, replicate and produce sounds waves of different frequencies in order to provide various effects depending on the technique. Though this isn’t the only thing it does, as it can act as a medium for our own body to take advantage of - such as increasing the our hearing beyond normal human levels. That’s rather the gist of it though there are far more advanced applications of that Sound might provide which again ties back to how certain frequencies interact with the body.

Sound Release comes in two different forms in the rp. The first is Destructive Sound Waves. The way I’d describe is Sound Release on a more “physical” level compared to the others as it able to interact with solid objects and destroy things on contact dependant on the opposing force such as the vibrations shattering earth based structures. On of the other unique things to is the interaction with Water, as Sound becomes stronger when passing through it and further spreading the effects.

The second form is called Hindering Sound Waves, and as opposed to the destructive version this one can be described as the “softer” part. This variant is “instant” in it’s travel speed, thus causing it to be quite a deadly art. Hindering Sound Waves from what I’ve seen affects the body on an internal level as opposed to Destructive which can harm the outside. This variant can also be used as a medium to cast Sound Based Illusion Techniques.

Sound is its destructive form is slightly faster than Wind Release, and has the strength and weaknesses of the following : It is weak to Wind as the element takes control of the air around the area of effect, which Sound uses in order to travel thus if it's disturbed the the sound can’t travel, neutral against Lightning and I’m assuming Fire as well - but strong against solids such as water , earth and crystal release.

Well you kinda cut my tail already with the “obvious to make better gen” part haha. However, what I also see myself achieving is fusing Sound with Taijutsu as well considering the two go hand in hand immensely as well as Kenjutsu. Not gonna bullshit you with this part as I only really looked into the Genjutsu/Tai applications but Im sure I can get more ideas outside the box once I start tampering with the element.

Description: The user will enhance their hearing by infusing his ears with sound chakra. Then, by utilizing chakra and enfacing his lungs, the user will be able to control the frequency and intensity of the sound emitted from his simple breathing. This low frequency, inaudible sound is passively emitted and has no effect other than emerging from him and bouncing off of objects. Using the enhanced hearing, the user is able to know where everything is around them, effectively creating a sonar effect through the rebound and reflection of sound waves. The hearing and the sonar effect is precise enough so that one can effectively use it to substitute one's vision in battle if needed. Despite being very effective, specially if the user has any of his other senses hindered, it also leaves the user vulnerable to sound genjutsu or sound attacks which will be much more drastic in its effects.
Note: Lasts 6 turns

This technique is probably familiar to you. A technique where you will infuse your ears with Sound chakra, and then enfacing your lungs and control your breathing, allowing you to basically control the intensity and frequency of Sound you breath out. This frequency is emitted outward, and bounces off objects, and hits back to your enhanced hearing, which now allows you to know where things are. Kinda like Bats, its basically Echolocation.

Huh I thought it would of followed under the Hinder Sound Wave frequency but guess not haha thanks for the correction. Alright so this one of the most infamous techniques within the set - as you said this technique is a parallel to the echolocation used by bats. The thing that I love about this technique is that or least I would think it does is allow for the user to have a “map” of sorts of an area through the use of the sound waves bouncing back and travelling around to get a mental picture of the environment. This of course I would assume doesn’t bounce off of energy based substances and non solid liquid techniques, such as a giant wave of water. Of course you’d be able to hear sound waves that produced from them otherwise but in some case the enemy technique might be “silent” so and thus produces no sound for me to hear.

Of course this technique comes with it’s own downfalls, as enhancing your sense of hearing to that level leaves you quite in a pickle, so using it is a gamble that one has to take as a simple explosive tag near you can really mess up your hearing. Overall its a really nice technique but the user has to be careful when to use it haha. I have no questions other the ones mentioned above. And that -1 chakra reduction is actually pretty dope too.

It bounces off anything that has an edge, really. Its generally a good extra to use if you don't have Sensory, like myself. Also, people can't really "see" you activate it, as you don't need to form hand seals or anything, so generally, cool to use.

The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.

A smart technique, where upon physical contact, you infuse an object with Sound chakra. This causes it to vibrate and produce a very specific low frequency, high amplitude Sound. This vibration, causes objects to bounce off the affected target, making it useful for using on swords in a sword on sword clash, or on a kunai, and due to its resonance, you will know where it is on the field. It can also be applied to weak structures, to destroy it, for example.

Hmm I guess this is one of those techniques that has potential CJ options. Though as it is, its a pretty nice technique - it’s a pretty dope technique because it’s like a sensory technique in its own right when you apply it to the ground as it will resonate across the ground though this is very limited as it only has a short range reach. It’s really amazing for close combat doe as in a stalemate clash, you can use it to your advantage and deflect weapons. It also can at a “reasoning” when deciphering illusions so that’s a huge plus.

Overall a simple technique though with quite a few potential usages.

This only works on B rank and below techniques which are solid, like Earth and Water (in some cases).

This happens because the sound vibrations damage soft tissue by resonating within the water molecules that reside within it. The effect is similar to a localized explosion upon contact that rips through the targeted area and creates a shockwave that blasts the target backwards. The skill is exceptionally useful if used against solid techniques such as those from Earth Release (or similar) which will shatter upon being hit.

This technique is lowkey OP, where you will gather Sound chakra to a limb. This allows you to focus sonic vibrations of low frequency high amplitude to it, and once you strike an opponent with said limb, you basically cause it to inert for a whole turn (they can't use the part struck).

When I mean reasoning is based on the wording of the technique here “by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency.” it makes I can “sense” things around me within a short range vicinity and if im in an illusion, its possible to use as a reasoning with my deductions.

The first technique is rather simple to understand , simply clapping and releasing the sound waves to disperse the enemy technique. It can still be used outside of this I assume to attack the enemy with the sound waves but I wonder how’d it would interact with them directly. One other question is would it classify as a “nintaijutsu” move?

The second technique is once again a fairly simple one but hella effective in close combat. You can add this in collaboration with a chakra less taijutsu technique and basically deal a double edged technique, capable of shattering solid techniques within the reason of this technique. I can see myself using this quite often, though my only question is the same as above. Would it cound as a nintaijutsu move?

This releases a massive forward shock wave of low frequency, high amplitude Sound that blasts whatever is in its way. Through water, it gains that +20.

The user has control over the illusion, being able to make it seem as if entire trees have been snapped in half, falling on the target or as if an earth structure has collapsed either above or beneath the opponent, etc. The illusion can be edited to fit the situation and even the sound can be slightly altered deepening on the object that is "snapped". Is more effective depending upon the terrain this is used in ( extremely effective in a forest, not effective in a desert ).

Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill is pretty simple in it’s nature like most of the others, the user will knead a copious amount of ototon chakra into their throat and unleash scream, yell or roar etc releasing a massive shockwave which is seen a swift moving ripple in the air. As it says, it moves faster than most wind/lightning techniques but as it travels further it becomes weaker but still retains the power to counter techniques. Can gain a +20 damage boost if applied in a water source. One thing i noticed about this part is that when you roar on an ocean’s surface for example - you can angle the shock wave to travel along the surface of the water to gain that +20 with relative ease.

Sound Release Illusionary Art: Eruption and Downfall Ahh yes, my first canon Sound Illusion ;_;. You start off by snapping your fingers and releasing a high frequency sound wave that starts the illusion. Once heard the target will find themselves in a illusion plain where dependant on the user and situation will come into play. The target will initially hear something snapping in half, as the common given example is a tree or the ground splitting - this allows the user to create the illusion of the target falling into the earth or the object of choice that “snapped” to fall and crash into them. It's a situational technique but extremely useful when used correctly. It's really one of those "generic tool box" sort of techniques which the user has complete control over the illusions. Their imagination is the only hindrance. I mean shit, you can even alter the "snapping" sound to an extent too to match the situation even more :p. Sigh gotta love the art of Genjutsu <3

The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.

This allows you to release a high frequency sound wave, which is almost like a faint buzz in the opponent's ear. This impairs their hearing, as they only start hearing the buzzing, drowning out other sounds, making it easy for those sneak attacks.

The effect is a large emission of low frequency, high amplitude sound waves but instead of a forward attack, its manipulated into an omnidirectional sound blast that expands outwards all around the user, pushing attacks and enemies backwards with might.

Last B rank. Focus Sound chakra to your vocial chords, and amplify your voice as you let out a scream, yell or roar (rawr). This unleashes a large emission of low frequency high amplitude sound, which is manipulated into an omni-directional Sound blast, that pushes opponents and attacks (within reason, solid materials, though not stated can be inferred) back whilst causing damage as well.

Sound Release: Whispers to the Canines is easy to understand, the user releases a sound frequency that affects the target’s hearing. They will be stuck hearing the sound of a large buzzing in their ears that is similar to that of bees. They are unable to hear other sounds unless it’s directly next to them or louder enough to overpower the buzzing those all other sounds become drowned out. It’s a really stealthy move but it has it’s downsides of course, which is mostly that it does not affect the other senses. So they’d be able to still see things, and by extension feel the vibrations of techniques like earth coming from the ground though ofc they won’t be able to hear it.

Sound Release: Scream of Despair Skill follows the same premise of Echo Assault Skill except this one is an omnidirectional burst of sound rather than a single path. It also doesn’t gain the water bonus of which is a downside of it but on another plus side is that it can defend the user from all around instead of just one direction.

Description: This is a much greater and focused version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Unlike its weaker technique, the massive power it carries makes it slightly slower, equal to an average equally ranked Raiton technique. Unlike the unfocused nature of its weaker version, its focused almost like a beam, affecting an area of 50º in front of the user. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.

The first of the variations. It's the same, but this one is stronger, and is more focused like a beam, basically covering a 50 degree angle in front of you. It also gains the +20 when used in Water.

I made a CJ based on this principle. You will gather a large amount of Sound chakra into your hands, which creates a vibrational field around them, but also makes them resonate at different low frequencies. Slamming your hands together, you will force them to resonate with each other, causing an outward explosion, which blasts back everything in front of you in a 160 degree angle (covers an arc).

Not much to say about the first one as it’s pretty much the same as the weaker variant though it covers a wider range and more powerful but also slower than the first. Not much to say here on my end about it.

This technique is pretty good, it reminds me again of Whitebeard's DF ability. It covers a pretty decent range as well, having a 160 ‘ AoE is pretty damn good. Not much to say about this one either.

Description: The user charges Ototon chakra into their feet as they run, releasing it as each foot hits the earth and makes sound. As each steps sound off, low frequency waves are released, each wave causing an immense vibration to propagate through the ground and into any enemy, making their bodies lose balance as the waves collide with the target repeatedly. As the waves continue to hit the target, the vibrations increase and cause internal pain, almost as if each wave is drilling into the target's body, causing the target to also become nauseous from the continuous waves. Despite its danger, the technique can easily be defended by simply severing ones contact with the ground.

A technique where you will focus your Sound chakra into your feet as you run towards the opponent. As your feet slam onto the ground, Sound waves (low frequency) vibrate through the ground and toward the opponent, as it passes through them and causes internal pain. This acts as a good distraction as well as a way for the opponent to get into the air, or away from the ground, and thus allow you to think/plan ahead.

The vibrations don't produce any external effect, unlike what happens with (Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist technique, instead propagating into whatever is touched through direct contact. The user is free in which moves he will perform and can use virtually any stance he knows. However, because it produces no externalization of the vibrations, as the limbs are only infused with sound chakra and the vibrations happen in what is hit, the user cannot attack or defend from things that would otherwise hurt him like bladed weapons, etc.

Taijutsu Sound technique, part 2. You will focus Sound chakra into your limbs,and deliver an attack. This can shatter solid defenses, and I want you to elaborate more on why this one is more useful than the former, Sonic Fist.

Sound Release: Jackhammer is a unique one now, so while running/moving towards the target I would release sound waves from the bottom of my feet each time. This causes the waves to touch the opponent, causing their body to basically absorb the sound waves and become unbalanced. Prolonged contact with the ground is dangerous in this case as the target will continue to be bombarded with the Sound waves causing internal damage as the waves increase - making them feel nauseous etc. This is very niche in hand to hand combat to be honest and can really help a person dominate in that sense. Though the easy way to avoid is to jump off the ground lol and stay away from contact with it. One other issue is that the user will need to keep focusing on this technique in order to achieve the continued effect.

(Ototon: Shinsei) - Sound Release: Divinity is a better version of Sonic Fist. In the sense that the user will channel as mass amount of Ototon chakra into the limb, though they have a choice of it being a destructive or hindering sound wave - and strike the target with different taijutsu motions. So there is room for some uniqueness in each us of the technique. The only major draw back is “However, because it produces no externalization of the vibrations, as the limbs are only infused with sound chakra and the vibrations happen in what is hit, the user cannot attack or defend from things that would otherwise hurt him like bladed weapons” this portion right here but Im sure there are some work arounds. This also does damage on the outside of the target’s body as opposed to Sonic First’s internal damage.

(Ototon: Takanari Kichigai) - Sound Release: Ringing Madness

Description: The user, gathering their sound chakra into their throat and emitting a sound (anything from a simply whistle to speaking or screaming, etc), creates a high frequency wave that targets a foe's ear, causing this portion of sound to remain in their opponents' ears, manifesting as a building ringing sound. The ringing continues to grow as time progresses, originally disrupting how a person hears hampering their ability to think clearly. From that point, it starts to mess with their balance until they become incredibly disorientated, and unable to mold chakra properly due to this.
Note: Lasts 8 turns and reduces damage of the jutsu used against the user by -5 until this effect wears off while increasing the chakra cost of every technique the enemy uses by +10

An interesting debuff technique, where you will gather Sound chakra in your throat, and emit a Sound (any type). This creates a high frequency wave that targets an opponent's ear, and causes the portion of Sound to remain there as a building, ringing Sound. This grows, over a period of 8 turns. Talk a bit about why its a debuffer.

Description: The user charges sound chakra into each of their hands and slams them together, creating a sound similar to two heavy golden cymbals crashing together. As the hands slam together, it releases a high pitched, high frequency sound wave, resonating in the enemies ear, and causing muscle paralysis upon hearing it. As the loud sound happens, it creates an echoing amongst the field, trapping any who hear it under paralysis, causing slight pain to them, causing their ear drums to bleed. Paralysis lasts one turn but the user cannot use any other sound techniques for 2 turns after using it.

The infamous paralyzer. You will focus Sound chakra into your hands, and slam them together, causing a Sound of cymbals slamming together to resonate throughout the field in a high pitched, high frequency wave. This causes muscle paralysis instantly, which lasts a single turn at the cost of having to wait two turns to use sound again.
