Anymore, a lot of higher-end sound engineering is going towards software.
This is an older model that I'm familiar with:

These are some pretty advanced equalizers that tie into computer programs that can control them remotely. There's a lot of real-time feedback monitoring, delay processing, etc. The process for setting one of these systems up is fairly involved, using sophisticated equipment to monitor how the sound propagates through the audience space and how to calibrate the system to reduce echoes, distortion, etc.
If you enjoy audio/sound engineering, then you should pursue a career in it. However, I would also advise branching into software engineering, as well. That is where a lot of audio engineering is going, and it would also give you some diversity so that you aren't tied to one type of job.
Plus, almost everyone and their brother is going for software engineering. Programmers are a dime a dozen, these days. Good ones are harder to come by - but that is true with any industry.
I'm finding it difficult to find job outlooks as they pertain to India - but these are some of the statistics for the U.S. :

Software engineering is expected to grow considerably, while audio engineering is not expected to grow much above/beyond the average.
I think they could be underestimating the growth of audio engineering, largely because there is a growing market related to much of the software engineering market - voice acting and sound effects - that will affect demand somewhat positively.
But, there again, I also expect the U.S. economy to collapse within the next five years... so I can't have my cake and eat it, too.
