They also simoly went CM2 in order to hurry past them, it wasn't bare minimum tk beat them. Proof of this is that Genma said they were inhuman monsters, implying a huge difference in ability.

It also makes no sense for Orochimaru tocsend scrubs weaker than prime jounin to complete the most important mission of his life.

The trio of jounin are impressive in their own right, having served under Hokag.

So I think at least CM lvl1 is needed. The Sound Four win on account of hax.
