After waiting quite a bit, the new SE chapter is out. While waiting, sometimes the following thought crossed my mind: "While chapter 107 was exciting as hell, is there really anything else in SE aside a huge battle? Yes, we know it's the kishin, and as such it'll be very epic, Kid will probably be the decisive piece to win over the kishin and such...but if it goes that predictable...what will be of all that development Ookubo pulled?"
Now, Ookubo didn't disappointed me! :yeah: He has pulled such a great plot twist in chapter 108 that I'm quite happy of had followed this manga for a year by now.
When I read the first pages I was literally shocked:

So, it seems Kid is all Shinigami-sama's fears (or not? Please help me xd While I enjoyed this chapter a lot, I also felt confused xd). If so, then it makes a lot sense Kid's nervous and unstable personality....and also gives a wider picture of Shinigami-sama's character (oh, boy, the story about him pulling off Asura's skin is more twisted now o_O).
So, what do you believe Shinigami-sama's original character was like?
I was also pretty amused to see how the sense of righteousness was warped. Since SE started as a pretty silly series, I certainly wasn't expecting the "gud" guys to get criticized. "The killed other ppl, yes, but it was just becuase this ppl was on the list of the god in this universe" it's something I used to thought. But the latest chapter has reach the climax of the clash between the main factions:

Now, even Shinigami-sama has said he used kid to corner witch Medusa, which might imply he knew all along of his activities within the Shibusen...This raises some serious questions:
-Do you think Shinigami-sama standars are too rigid, bordering inmorality?
-Can you even figure out on what he bases his order?
-Also, what do you think of Asura's way of doing?

And, gosh. This was one of the best SE action chapters. For a moment I was afraid kid would go nuts:

do you believe kid has learn enough to re-build the order?

I always thought that the way the story was made was for the characters so the final had great implications for the SE context...so what are your predictions regarding his resolution?
And oh boy, Black star really shined here:

For a moment I thought he was a goner (again <.<)

That was insane! xd
However, do you believe Asura is right when saying that he's blindly following a hollow faith?

While it's true the kishin it's not providing any proof, neither has any Shibusen member...
I loved the final cliffhanger:

I'm so looking forward for 109!

Actually I thought it was the opposite.

Wasn't it that the Kisshin was given all of Shinigami's fear, but instead Kidd was born without fear as an expirament to see if he could learn fear?!

That's what I got from it....that and that aparantly the Kisshin is Kidd's brother

hum...The anime is over (and gosh, it was lame). But the manga is very awesome. My fav current on-going shonen.
Preach it my brother.

Soul Eater never is disappointing to me, but this was something else. A major plot twist with Asura/Kid/Shinigami. Plus, we got to see Black Star go hard against Asura, as well as Sid/Spirit/Stein/Marie cameos. I think at the end of this battle we'll see Noah escape somehow. I really had trouble seeing how this battle wouldn't be the end because Asura is well, Asura, but with this new plot point, I think Kid might actually turn to the dark side or somehow Asura will leave. I don't see this as the end and I can't see it getting any bigger than Asura, so something has to happen. If not, then I expect Asura to wreck house. Well, I expect that anyways.

Anyways, awesome awesome chapter. Gives more character to Asura, although he's still as insane as ever, which makes him a threat. He is so powerful, insane, and yet calm sometimes. He's intimidating when I think of how the crew has to beat him. I can't see Asura being beaten actually. Not yet anyways.

But yeah, I love this thread. A lot of work and it's about Soul Eater. I'm in love xd

Edit: Yeah, to the guy above me, I thought the same. Asura was all the fear, DTK/Asura were brothers, and Kid was basically Shingimai trying to fix his accident that was Asura. Trying to justify his actions, amend his decision.

Oh and the ending, I think this will give Soul/Maka a major edge, but still not enough to beat him.

PS: I LOVED the artstyle. I always love the artstyle of Soul Eater.

That's why I asked! The translations in this one confused me a bit (dunno why, I've been reading in English for almost a year now, but he!, happens).
Not apparently, they come from the same source ;D

Bold:  Stop it...xd
OT: Well, I was very impatient in the war preamble (I wouldn't call it disappointment, but for a moment I thougth Soul Eater would go down hill). Now I see those chapters were important to develop Maka and Spirit's relationship, so it wasn't an asspul when Maka hold his papa (that was so touching! Must admit :O). Actually, I think SE is one of the few shonen that managed to keep up its quality along the whole series (at least in the manga).
I wonder if we'll get to see a more detailed flash back about how things were back then when the Shibusen didn't exist (this is one of those few times I actually want to see some flashbacks xd).
About Noah, seems plausible. The index is way too suspicious to be simply throw away (Eibon is just a fishy guy!).
Yeah, as I said I was afraid Kid would go completely nuts!
Ahaha, I expect Asura to get real serious :) It's going to be crazy!
It would be interesting if Ookubo really manages to pull another arc...:º
Underlined: Now it makes sense xd Sorry, but I got confused xd But yeah, a while ago, when we learnt kid was a fragment of shinigami in the Savage arc, I thought that Shinigami-sama might have placed a lot of pressure on Kid to try to amend his past mistakes...really pushing the idea of order into him to the point of cause a OCT on Kid (which btw I always enjoyed xd So funny).
Italic:YEah, Maka must get her part of the cake too :) But I agree. I don't think they can match up Asura yet!
I know! :yeah: SE art is really unique. It can be very hectic at time!

I was confused too, during the middle/later part of the chapter, but moving on!

Yeah, another arc. I think they'll will be, but I have no idea how. We still have Noah out there. I think Arachne will come back. I know it's odd thinking, but I haven't forgotten what Giriko said in his final moments and how Arachne was finished off so quickly (Not in terms of battle, but how she was introduced and ended faster than everyone other character). Who knows? Other than that, I'm not sure what he can do with the story, but if he plans to do more, I have faith, however, it's Asura, doesn't get any bigger than that. He destroyed Noah in an improved form and now Asura has Chrona, so I mean, come on. How are people not dead yet? Besides Justin, of course, my favorite character.

...Well, I think they're some nameless characters dead already, but who cares.
Dunno about Archane, maybe not.
Yeah, Asura was meant to be, since the beginning, the biggest threat in SE-verse. But I wonder what can Asura do now that he can't be harmed thorough physical attacks.
Justin played his role very well, and it is sad he's gone now. I loved this cover:
