I think you should have pride in your nationality and history. Taking pride in your racist it's just stupid seeing that you can have people with different skin colors than you and with a more similar genetic makeup than someone who does.

Pride isn't for everyone. Pride is only for those who accomplished something they felt they needed to be proud of.

Saying that ''I'm proud to be American'' or whatever nationality, is really dumb. Because you didn't do anything for your country to have pride for, unless you're a soldier and you fought your country, then in that case you can have pride for that. Other than just standing on the road, and shouting your country's name is not pride.

Saying that ''I'm proud to be black'' or whatever race, isn't a prideful either. Your genetic is what made you into that race, so you didn't really accomplish anything to be that colour. And it's even more stupid to say it's racist to be proud of your skin colour.

You only have pride for something you accomplished.

Not at all, taking pride is different from ridiculing another race. Almost like how "wanking" is different from "bashing" although the two sometimes converge at times.

I rather take pride in my species than in a race. Race is as imaginary as the Easter bunny or Harry Potter. It doesn't exist it was just something to use to label others in a particular group, but at the end of the day we are all human beings. Though I know some may take pride in looking different from someone else, I don't.

One thing that I think it is appropriate to take pride in is your particular CULTURE. Race and Culture is 2 completely different things. Your culture could describe who you are and what you represent, which I think is something you should be able to reasonably pride yourself with.

I'm not racist to to any race, because I don't believe race is a tool that should be used to describe others. Its shallow to believe skin color or geographic origin should be a deciding factor in your opinion of someone else.

I am here talking only about ex-Yugoslav countries.

Exactly 23 years ago that hatred (<one factor) resulted in pointless war. 'Pretty Villages, Pretty Flame' is a movie based on true story that happened in 1992. I think that the movie really nicely explains everything wrong with Balkan countries at the time, and sadly I don't see that much changed in the mindset of people today.

So after the war instead on 1 country now we have 6 or no, 7 and still counting. :|

And in what kind of countries we live? When NATO bombed us to bring us piece and democracy we suddenly became aware of the word called 'freedom'. Indeed the word was promising and beautiful. It was 'modern' and it was from West. Of course we had to accept it... That word and everything that was coming from West. That's how we got 'beautiful' cultural scene today, but to be honest we always were some sort of savages. Com'on who is still playing soldiers at the beginning of 21st century in Europe? That's right, people of Balkans!

And we got democracy, yet another beautiful word that is just a word here. I can guarantee that most of us don't even know what the word means.
