When gray became half demonized did he like absorb some of mard geers magic which caused him to become like that or was it gray who demonized himself somehow so he could block the attack
If it's the first one then I don't get it how can you block that kind of attack so can someone explain this

I think it's the first one and it has to do with his (Power of Nakama) Devil Slayer powers probably, but not sure

That seems like Gray activated partial demonic form in a pinch when Mard geer attacked with momento mori which saved him along with natsu from that attack.I doubt he absorbed that attack!.
