Beside the fact that Naruto's characterization is better suited for Sakura.
The reason I enjoy Narusaku more then Naruhina, is because how pure there love for each other is.
Naruto cares more about Sakura's feelings then his own. Thats was part of the reason he was trying to get Sasuke to come back. He also wants to confess to Sakura only after he gets Sasuke to come back, hence telling Sai he can't tell Sakura his feelings. Because if he confesses and she accepts, there will always be the question of did she choose me just because she couldn't choose him. Naruto wants that pure deep down love, thats also the reason he couldn't accept Sakura first confession.
Sakura love for Naruto, (not yet revealed to romantic) but has been hinted that its runs deeper then even she realizes. She was willing, even though she failed, to kill Sasuke to help lift the pain from Naruto, despite the fact of her feelings for Sasuke, and that it would make Naruto hate her (even thought Naruto could never hate her). I feel Sakura is aware that she has fallen in love with Naruto, hence the scene, where Sakura say "Hinata....Loves...Naruto" which her facial expression dedicates thats she is sad. Also the fact that when Sai tell her that Naruto really love her. She cries, and states "the fool is in love with me. She feels unworthy of Naruto love, even though she probably does love him, she doesn't want to admit it because she believes she has caused him to much pain. But we know Naruto isn't like that.
Sakura love for Sasuke was selfish, Databook
Hinata love for Naruto is selfish, stated by Hinata herself.
The only unselfish love so far, is Naruto and Sakura. Thats why there my #1.
The reason I feel Hinata even become as relvant as she is, is because of popularity. So Kishi started to give her small roles here and there to keep readers reading.
For the longest time, it bugged me on how Kishi would close the door on Naruhina. Because analyzing his writing it seemed that the only conclusion was to have Naruto letdown Hinata easy, just plain out telling her that he doesn't have those types of feelings for her, giving her speech or something thats she strong. Yet this seemed out of place, not in the sense that Naruto not accepting Hinata's feelings are out of place because thats not the case. Its more of Kishi's writing would seem out of place. So for a while it made me wonder. If Kishi had Naruto reject Hinata, the Naruhina fans would go nuts, say horrible things about Naruto. So who could close the door on Naruhina and not cause such a horrible backlash.
Then Kishi did this.......

He literally just dropped the answer to my inquiry on my face.
Hinata! Hinata herself will close the door on Naruhina. I thought it be strange if she did before this scene, because she really had no motivation too, well expect for the slight motivation she might have gotten when she watched Sakura hug Naruto. But I digress.
The thing about infinite tsukuyomi, that we know is that Kishi designed it as place where your selfish desires are met. Yet its also a place where people realize the faults of there selfish desires, its a place where the strong will conquer there selfish desires. For example, Kishi wrote that Naruto's selfish desire is to have his parent back. Yet as Naruto goes on, he realizes how his selfish desire has effected those around him and his parents himself. Instead of his parents making the ultimate sacrifice, and it ended up being Sakura's parents. Also his parent's personality had changed, his parents were the hero type, and that what Naruto had loved his parents for. Even stating that his parents were heros, not who his fake parent were. So Naruto conquered his selfish desire and wanted to return home to the real world.
So Hinata having her dream world with Naruto pretty much signaled, that Hinata will grow out of her selfish desire to be with Naruto. And so many other Tsukuyomi dreams gave me hope for the future, just like Shikamaru's dream. He's selfish desire is to be lazy and not deal with drag of trying to get married. Hopefully he realizes in his dream that, he really doesn't want this life, and he want to get married and he'll deal with the hassle of trying to get married......hopefully to Temari!!
Now Hinata getting over her crush of Naruto, leave open to who she would be with. Which I really hope Naruto tries to hook her up with Gaara. Hinata and Gaara have so many things in common, I'd think they'd make a good couple.
selfish desires aren't always bad in intention, the reason they are selfish desires is because there dreams aren't about making somebody else happy its about making themselves happy, thats what a selfish desire is. It doesn't always mean something evil or that there selfish desire isn't justified, its just a desire to set forth to make themselves happy. Some of there selfish desires are so simplistic that don't really affect other people, well that we know about.
Hinata herself has stated that her love for Naruto is selfish. The reason it is selfish, is because we haven't seen Hinata establish that she knows that Naruto is in love with Sakura. We got caught a quick glimpse of what we guess might be confusion from Hinata or maybe a small realization, when she saw Sakura hug Naruto....she gave (.......). Nearly almost the same reaction of Naruto when Sakura hugged Sasuke in Part 1.
Kishi wrote in the databook, that when Sakura was in love with Sasuke that her love was selfish.
The only unselfish love that has been established was Naruto's, when he realized Sakura past feelings for Sasuke in part 1, that he cared about her being happy more than he cared about his feelings for her. Thats what has been established in the manga as unselfish love.
But we won't know to till the very end anyways.....we might still get some naruhina moments, narusaku, sasusaku, shikatema.....ext.....kishi won't establish a couple till the very end, he'll keep stringing us along with small moments to keep the readers reading.
