Sony May Still Be Doing The Amazing Spider-Man 3

The Bill Beckman Casting website (via CBM) has listed a casting call for Amazing Spider-Man 3 with an Atlanta, Georgia shooting location. Andrew Garfield and Dane DeHaan are listed as stars of the film. Of course, the last official information from Sony Pictures was that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 film had been pushed back to sometime in 2018. And recent rumors have suggested that Andrew Garfield may not be returning for the next Spider-Man movie.

Even if Garfield does return, it’s a little early to start casting for a movie scheduled to be released in 2018. Also, why would Sony Pictures film in Atlanta when they have filmed in New York in the past? Iconic New York City landscapes are often featured in Spider-Man movies, so it would seem unusual that they would move away from New York for the third film.

So what is The Amazing Spider-Man 3 casting call all about? A closer inspection of the Bill Beckman Casting website reveals a Warner Bros. casting call for Miami, Florida for a movie with the following description: A comic book hero is sent to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.

That sort of sounds like the description for X-Men: Days of Future Past, which was not a Warner Bros. film. Unless Warner Bros. is about to do a knock-off of X-Men: Days of Future Past, the film descriptions on the website in question are likely not accurate.

It’s very possible that the casting calls themselves are legit, but the actual movies being described should be taken with a grain of salt. In fact, it’s possible that the casting call could be for a completely different superhero film set to film in Atlanta. Captain America 3: Civil War will reportedly start filming in Atlanta in April, and it probably wouldn’t be too early for casting calls to go out for that film.

What else can I say people. More rumors upon rumors. Pretty much tired of hearing the names "Spider-Man" and "Sony" being spoken in the same sentence. Based on all that we have heard in 2014, with 2015 kicking off with yet another rumor I think it's safe to say that Sony isn't handling Spider-Man the way he should be handled. You have to take care of this franchise, nurture it into a trilogy that wins oscars and grammy's. Instead we will have a trilogy made by the evil suits so desperate for cash that they will create a mess of what could have been a Marvel Studios Masterpiece. All we have now is hope. So let's HOPE this is just pure gossip and turn the other way.

The fact that we are still getting rumors instead of an actual reveal or any information straight from Sony, ya know the way Marvel Studios did with movies that will not be coming out for YEARS . Also the fact that Sony still has the rights to Spider-Man that rustles the jimmies a bit.

the fact that this movie is the lowest grossing movie Spider-Man movie is a testament to how tired people are growing of Sony's interpretation of him and how bad the films are becoming.

Please Sony please! Let the Marvel Cinematic Universe have him. You guys already ruined opportunity of him being in Captain America: Civil War. At least let us see him in Avengers: Infinity War pt. 1 & 2...

When I say it's my favorite movie of 2014 know that it's my biased opinion (It's Spider-Man bro lol) I've seen all those movies you listed and they are all WAY better than TASM2 Lol It's just that they did the suit right, the cgi was amazing, the acting (not including the villains) was amazing it was just the plot exactly what you listed are problems with the plot, and mostly villain wise.

Trust me I want Spidey in MCU just as much as you do but it still doesn't make me completely hate TASM2. I know it has horrible plot/dialogue villain wise but pretty much everything else can be brought over to MCU imo. Even Emma Stone because she is just perfect.
