Sometimes I question Orochimaru's logic

Let's start with Chunin Exams arc. He was so infatuated with Sasuke and taking his body, when there were far more interesting things out there. Like:

-Neji, would make a very good vessel since he has the Byakugan and was already a genius
-Naruto. Think of all the possibilities Orochimaru had, did he just straight up not want a free tailed beast? He knew the 5 elements seal and was skilled in fuinjutsu, so he could have very well made himself a jinchuuriki.
-Gaara: Same as Naruto except he also has the cool ability to have sand automatically protect him wherever he went. Orochimaru could have been the jinchuuriki of two different tailed beasts!
-Kakashi: Orochimaru already went face to face with him, he could have just stolen Kakashi's sharingan if he wanted one so bad

Then he played around with Hiruzen instead of fighting him with real killing intent. He should have just finished the job quick and then got on to destroying the leaf.

Then there's the Search for Tsunade arc. Really? Really Orochimaru, did you think Tsunade would be able to heal you from the Reaper Death Seal? Your arms were sealed away in the belly of the Death God, no amount of medical ninjutsu in the world is going to do anything.

Sasuke Rescue arc...well, I can't think of anything extraordinarily illogical that he did here. His subordinates (Sound 4) were really stupid and overconfident though, they should have just fought Shikamaru's squad all at once.

Sasuke and Sai arc; this is the one that really annoyed me. He lets Yamato, Sakura, Naruto and Sai go all at once "in the hopes that they may kill more Akatsuki members." Hello! There's a Wood Style user right in front of you, you can do more fun experiments! And the nine tails jinchuuriki: if you want to hinder Akatsuki, take the Kyubi!

3 tails arc: I know this one isn't canon, but if I was Oro I would have taken Guren's body without hesitation. That crystal release is hella OP.

Then later on he got killed by Sasuke, yeah it wasn't his fault he didn't do anything dumb, he was just overpowered by Sauce and couldn't do much about it. And then the poor guy got Totsuka'd by Itachi...life's just not fair.

And then after he was revived from Anko's curse mark, I still don't understand his logic. He still wants Sasuke's body, use the Edo Hokages to capture him!

And now he's dreaming in IT.

No he's smart catching the tailed beast would cause to much attention and ruin his plain so sasuke was his best bet he knows what he's doing idk what no one knows but he's up to something imagine how many ninja would look for him not just the leaf but every village including the akatski themselves

Orochimaru needed a legitimate Uchiha body to aid in learning new Jutsu. Those other people wouldn't be as much use as a true blue Uchiha.

He meant healing the necrosis and restoring his physical arms to use.

He did the right thing in letting them go. They did take down more of the Akatsuki.

Well... There was the problem of Obito, Madara, and the Juubi. Plus he's interested in what Sasuke does on his own for now.

If he really wanted to hinder the Akatsuki's efforts he should have captured the Kyubi and kept it a secret. If they did find out, Akatsuki would come after him and he and Sasuke could fight them personally. And as a bonus there's a wood style user for some fun experimentation.

1. While that's true, that's put unnecessary strain on his organization and plans. He'd have the full force of both Akatsuki and Konoha bearing down on him. And he still didn't have his soul arms :/

3. It didn't explicitly say necrosis, but that's what it was. The flesh of his arms were really dark, indicating rot. And he, obviously, couldn't move them. I'm sure Tsunade could have restored his arms physically.

4. Eeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh not sure how well he and Sasuke would fare against Pain and Tobi .-.

5. Gawd me too. Though I think the majority of his screen time now will be interacting with (and hopefully fighting) Kabuto.

Orochimaru goal is to learn all jutsu, to copy jutsu at such a level he needs the sharingan

Orochimaru could have taken down 1-Tailed Beast but 9-Tailed, no chance. Also it is easy to seal Bijuu in the body but very difficult to control it. Oro could not master sage mode which means He does not enough chakra pool to control/mold natural energy.

Oro was infatuated with Sharingan since he was 1-shot by Itachi so he couldn't think anything but Uchiha's body.

3-Tails + Guren Arc was just a filler, not actually in manga.

Agreed with Yamato+Naruto+Sai Arc. That was not logical.

its is Kichi logic not Orochimaru's...oro would be the strongest in reality...
