I don't understand why Oda chose to give an upgrade to Luffy(G4) that is heavily dependent on his haki quantity. The way i've understood the G4 working, so far, the haki is used to help Luffy to contain the rubber balloon form while allowing him to conserve springness and even alter some of his movements with compression and thus is a mode that can't be used without haki
Problem however is that as explained in the manga, there is a limit in haki for any individual. We know for a fact that he already learnt G4 early on since he talked about a Kong Gun ineffective against a certain beast to develop King Kong Gun and we know that Rayleigh left Luffy for the last 6months, so at the very least a year or more, Luffy had time to think about the timelimit, yet never managed to overcome it, which is understandable considering it depends on his haki quantity(although he can maintain it for 20minutes now)
That means that no matter how huge Luffy's development will be, his G4 mode will always be dependent on his level of haki. Did Oda force this type of development on Luffy in order for him to increase his haki quantity time after time with a fighting mode this heavily dependent on? That means that even by the end of the manga, G4 will still have this restriction, although most likely Luffy's haki quantity will be vastly more important and if Luffy were to eventually find an alternative not dependent on haki(a possible G5), it would render G4 completely useless too
