Something that struck me...

I was thinking about the FTG technique and how effective it is both outside of combat and in combat. How could a shinobi with this ability possibly die? For example how could Tobirama had died?

We all know how Tobirama died... sacrificing himself to save his team. However, could he not have placed a FTG seal on one team member, lure the enemy away and once they were far enough away, teleport back to the member with the seal? That would have been more logical than going off and killing yourself.

I'm also going to agree with the theories that Madara killed Tobirama. If it wasn't Madara, Tobirama could have done what I stated above and lived and made the village stronger and blah blah blah.

However, what if he didn't do that because he thought he had a chance at taking out Madara? He would be taking out a threat to the whole the leaf village and even to the other villages. Therefore I think that he went to battle Madara who was in on the ambush that Tobirama was facing. The outcome of course was that Tobirama was killed by Madara.

Anyway I guess this is all speculation, but, it makes sense to me. What do you guys think?

Tobirama had to engage the 20 Elite Shinobis so his team could escape U_U He couldn't have teleported away in that situation. Also the PNJ

Good point. However, maybe someone did a sneak attack that he didn't realize what was going on until he was hit. I know he's a sensor, but it's possible. Either this, or he couldn't set up enough spots in time to evade the enemy shinobi.

Why not though? we seen how effective he is at using it, seen through the latest manga chapters. All he had to do was buy what may 2-5 mins to allow his team a good head start and then puff... ftg back to Hiruzen or something.
