Good post, this actually has been discussed as I remember. Well I can tell you iruka didnt help raise naruto as he didnt even want the responsability of being his teacher when the third hokage told him so, so the bond with iruka happened before he became his teacher. Maybe a daycare in konoha.. Plus i can only imagine the bad treatment naruto received because of the nine tails... The same goes for sasuke I guess..
