My bad now look at the sage dude.

I know its not entirely the same but its like a foreshadow.

Sage was a priest, he wanted peace. Monks want peace, they are a tight peaceful worshipping group. As you showed with the entrance that must have a connection to whats inside.

Look at the sages forehead. Its the same 'Y' shape.
Except the monks is obviously alot smaller.
