Now, it is widely accepted at this point that Hagoromo had the six paths yang power (the sun seal) in his fight with the Juubi while Hamura had the six paths yin power (moon seal). However, we have also seen that Hagoromo has both seals as he gave both of them to Naruto and Sasuke and they both appeared on his hands when Naruto and Sasuke sealed Kaguya.
Now here is what I am wondering: Did Hagoromo actually have both seals during the fight with the juubi? If so, did Hamura really have the yin seal? If Hagoromo had both seals then what was the point of establishing Hamura (besides to give the Hyuuga clan an origin)? Also, if he had both seals then why couldn't he just seal Kaguya himself (without Hamura)? If Hagoromo didn't have both seals, then how did he eventually get them both?
Finally, I have been contemplating this one for awhile. When, why and how exactly did Hagoromo become the juubi's jinchuuriki? After all, With the bros together having both seals, they could have just used six paths chibaku tensei on the juubi and sealed Kaguya in the moon from the start. Also this question brings up some chronology issues about Black Zetsu's creation.
Black Zetsu said he was created just before Kaguya was sealed. However, we know that Black Zetsu was clearly there to witness the lives of Indra and Ashura (as he tempted Indra). Now Hagoromo was said to have created the moon on his death bed (or at least in his old age). This would have to be true if Hagoromo went most of his life as the juubi jinchuuriki. Having said that, Hagoromo was clearly not on his death bed in that panel when he was teaching Indra and Ashura ninshuu (which was still a time in which Black Zetsu existed). Therefore the creation of the moon (a.k.a Kaguya's sealing) would have had to take place at a much later time. However, Black Zetsu existed before this (as stated previously).
Therefore it is a little confusing in chronology when the manga says Black Zetsu was created just before Kaguya was sealed. The only logical explanation is that when he says the word "sealed", he meant when Kaguya was sealed inside of Hagoromo.
What do you guys think?
