He lacked resolve and motivation. Even Mike Tyson will lose to the average man if he simply stands there and do nothing.
Obito, deep down, wanted to lose. This defeat doesn't prove my point wrong, not in the least bit.

to be fair, he did not want to lose.. he wanted to see naruto lose his ambition/will.. wich is why he didn't kill him.. he was testing naruto's will.. i guess he under-estimated him though ^.^
