so it's either Tobirama can place marks on objects, or he can use FTG without seals.. I think the answer is quite obvious

He actually uses Shunshin not FTG, on both of those occasions.

No. That's why his chakra is being sealed. When sealing his chakra for FTG, the seal/formula is used as his mark for going to a specific location. He is not using that chakra being sealed. It's like a lightning and a lightning rod. Same priciple. Btw, show it to me an attack that could come from various angles capable of penetrating ST barrier. It is called a barrier for a reason..Zzz

All the seals in this manga use chakra as a fuel. A sealed chakra is only good for one shot, just as drop of blood gets consumed for summons. A seal on chakra based entity is different cuz its draws the chakra of that entity, if naruto dies seal for kurama no longer works.
A seal on kunai most likely expandable hence he uses so many of them per square meter and you never seen him teleporting to same kunai twice. Minato is sensor he shouldnt need to rely on his chakra for FTG, he can track enemies.
No proof of marking on other objects anyhow.

A barrier isnt infinite plane, one can turn it around the edges by clones or other chakra manipulated techs.
A barrier doesnt suck up the object, it has to pass through, it can be wasted by throwing a kunai there, either minato warps it either eats a kunai. Neither does it work like fixed portal.
A clones can surround minato and attacks while he stands there.
Minato cannot turn enemy attack against the enemy, unless it explosive devise like TBB, f.e. with kunai it wont work cuz it will lose motion and cant be directed at anything only transported to another marking.
Doesnt block genjutsu, doesnt block kamui or ama.

Right here tobirama and Minardo teleport all the hokages to the hokage stone monument, no kunai was shown so logically they must have seals on the statues themselves.

Idk about the claim that a landscape cannot be tagged. I agree that it has not clearly been showed being done so far but i think it's a stretch to say it cannot be done. I would assume that the reason FTG seals are placed directly on targets and even on the kunai are for tactical purposes. It's easier to get to your target if they have a seal on them or you are able to toss an projectile at them. A stationary object like a huge rock is one dimensional.
