i push the newly formed wood chakra out of my hands and up my arms until they reach my shoulders, i then push the wood chakra down my body until it reaches my feet. i then slowly push it out of my body into the ground. i then use this wood chakra to make a small pilar of wood grow and rise up out of the ground
-I approach the pillar admiring the creation.-
Not bad for the first time.
You have learned your first wood technique.
(Mokuton No Jutsu) - Wood Style Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary/Attack/Defense
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: Creates small wood pillars or trees to trap, defend, or fight with. These can be created from the users own body or from the ground.
Now a bit about this technique.
How it is created/performed: The very basic Mokuton technique. This technique and it's older A-ranked brother are the bread and butter of Mokuton. The very basic technique with which you can do almost anything you wish. Now, you have several ways of performing this technique. You can create Mokuton from either Water, Earth or yourself which makes it usable in every terrain/location you find yourself in. Usually it is performed by doing the snake hand seal and creating the wood contraptions where you want (while keeping the range of the techhnique in mind of course). You can also create the pillars from your body to help you in Taijutsu as shown by Yamato. In this case, no seal is necessary. You can go with no hand seal but I like to stick to the Snake hand seal to avoid unneccesary arguments in battles.
Usage examples: Now the technique itself is useful, but the problem is it's low rank. The D rank restricts you heavily if you plan on using this for offense (binding, hitting impaling). The most simple D-rank Lightning Armor technique can destroy the wood rendering it useless. The best way to use this technique is to create pillars which push you out of the way of an attack. That way you perserve chakra. Another useful situation I see this technique is usable in is Taijutsu. Using pillars for surprise attacks creating them either from your body or the ground to temporairly bind your opponent. Those are the main uses though you can do whatever you imagine.
Weaknesses and Strengths:
-Extremely versatile
-Great for evasion, binding, attacking and other activities.
-The possibilty to create it from anyplace you want to.
-Low rank
-Only Mid range
Additional notes: Now regarding the number of pillars/constructions you can make. The way I was taught, you are not limited to the number of pillars but the more you make the weaker they are. If for example you create one pillar than it has it's full strength and potency, but if you make two each pillar has half the strength than one. It goes on, so the more pillars you make the weaker they are. Keep that in mind.
If you have any questions feel free to ask them.
