Someone should have killed Danzou a long time ago (long before Sasuke)!

This guy was a piece of crap! Let's review all the lives he screwed over or attempted to screw over:

1. The entire Uchiha clan (a freaking genocide)
2. Kabuto Yakushi
3. The Amegakure Orphans (Danzou worked with Hanzou and orchestrated Yahiko's death among other things)
4. We later learn that he was involved with the Nue stuff
5. He tried to forcefully take over the shinobi world using Shisui's eye at the 5 kage summit
6. He killed that Toad that was about to either summon Naruto or give some information to someone during Pain's invasion (yet he himself didn't help against Pain at all)
7. He mentally and physically screwed over several of his root members.

I mean what the heck?! I find it hard to believe that nobody gunned for this man's life! The Uchiha were already planning a coup. They should have just killed Danzou. That would solve at least a good portion of their problems. The massacre would have been prevented. Yeah it is true that Hiruzen failed by allowing it to happen, but Danzou was the one who actually suggested the massacre. If Danzou was out of the picture, I don't think that Hiruzen, Koharu or Homura would have actually come up with the idea of genocide themselves. I believe that Danzou was also the one that shifted the blame for Kurama's attack on the Uchiha as well.

I'm serious! Danzou was just about as bad as Indra, or Black Zetsu for causing problems in the shinobi world!

I blame Kishi for turning Danzo into pretty much pure evil when he could have been more morally grey.

But yeah, with all the bad stuff he (retroactively) got involved in indeed made me wonder why noone took care of him. Especially since everyone supposedly knew he was still brainwashing kids into being his mindless killing machines after Root was officially disbanded.

How/Why would root take revenge on Sasuke when Sasuke was a kid and didnt know anything?
Uchiha's were alrdy slaughtered and the mission was completed. Danzo would be dead and Hokage would still be around.

The First Homage and His Brother the Second Homage never considered Danzo for Hokage if anything was the 3rd Hokage weakness that allowed Danzo and later Orochimaru with getting away with so much evil including the ill treatment of Naruto and Danzo attempts to take Naruto into Root.

Itachi could have killed Danzo at the same time when he was in disguise - (when he made a threat) and i doubt other Root would react that fast to save him - i and highly doubt that they could even take Itachi down. Danzo gone, root would be no more, or it would be another to take the lead. Hokage orders would still apply.
- Itachi was still alive at that time, that's why i doubt they would dare to do anything. Also, Root didnt know that much about the coup d'etat"(mission) like Konoha Council did
