You may have noticed my avatar and signature. I found the image on the internet and not only did it remind me of another drawing that i made but i liked it and i liked the message it was trying to convey and decided to personally use it as my avatar. Sort of expressing myself in a way i suppose. And in doing that i also removed my drawing from the profile, due of the similiarity. In other words i basically censored myself out of fear of possibly being seen as a copycat.

As far as i'm concerned, my avatar isn't breaking any rules that i'm aware of. Yet still... I logged in recently to find out it had been removed. And now i'm here wondering "why?". I'm not sure why they decided to remove it but it really bothered me. It bothers me how easily someone can do something like that because either they don't like you, didn't like it, felt it infringed their political ideology in some way, out of spite, Context, insensitivity, or just because. This is especially bothersome when you start thinking about how many other things blatantly break the rules on a daily basis and continue to be allowed. It's something that we see everywhere, both internet and real world, and it's a shame.

Do you think you have the right to walk up to someone and cover their mouth with duct tape because you didn't like what they said? Do you think you have the right to block something you don't like from all to see? To destroy ancient monuments? History? To decide wether art is pornography or what it means even thought you're not the artist?

We are at a point where we even censor ourselves. We are hindering our thoughts and creativity and slowly erasing our own history out of political correctness and hatred as we slowly become more and more ignorant, intolerant, and extremist. When people see something they don't like, rather than closing their eyes, trying to understand it, or saying it, they have to get rid of it so nobody else sees it because everybody wants everyone to be the same.

But we are already the same beause we're all human. We have the same blood regardless of our differences. We are constantly evolving. We went from horses to airplanes. We don't need to think the same. We don't need to literally be the same. We're not animals, we are something greater. We should strive to be ourselves as individuals, not others, and let others be themselves so long as they're not hurting anyone and let others be themselves too. Embrace that diversity. The world doesn't have to be perfect. It will never be. But it doesn't have to be a living hell either. We can't evolve onto the next step if we press the B button.

Don't let your mind rot before it's too late. Let it flourish with creativy and unique ideas and let others flourish as well. Go outside. Put down your phone. Breath air. Enjoy nature. Draw whatever you want. Write a song, a poem, a story, about anything. Play physical activities if you can. Look at the stars at night and wonder if there's someone out there wondering the same. Learn to apologize. Let go off your ego. Try and be nicer. And try not to make mistakes that you will later regret, because there's nothing worse than living with guilt.

Cheers

Well, it's actually more like saying you don't want "x" things said in your home, or deciding not to host certain pieces of art and literature in your museum.

To decide wether art is pornography or what it means even thought you're not the artist?
Yes.

Personal insecurity, I guess. I would've rid of the entire thing, as a whole, and moved on to something else.

Either you're assuming, or they're assuming. But to me, it looks unnecessary, lmao. It's funny because, I say stuff like this, and when it happens to one of you...some of you take it upon yourself to make entire threads about it, as if it's something NEW. But oh well.

There's a time and a place, for something. This quote is a bit manipulative of the truth.

I hate political correctness. All just to SAVE someone else from the truth THEY don't wanna hear.

At bold:...wow...so NOW it's a problem?All of a sudden?

comparisons and self-entitlement.

This part here, is more of a self-entitlement issue, rather than something that actually matters. It's escapism. Do something just cause you feel like it, or it fits you, not cause you're some "positivity/productivity" biased person. I do not like people who do that, they completely make things up. In fact, I've been there, done that...it's gonna BURN OUT. It gets boring and empty when you do things for absolutely no real reason.

You think you're so much better, lmao.

If the mods don't agree with it they remove it, happened to me when I made a post about bad moderation and then got an infraction

So, if the mods get personally involved in their duties, which is obvious, then it just makes them "unfit" and it defeats the purpose.

I've had a mod personally try to "threaten" me...but didn't care all that much, cause we both knew what was really going on.

Well, it's actually more like saying you don't want "x" things said in your home,

Censoring things right off the bat isn't like saying you don't want "x" things said in your home, specially if you're not home. If you don't want something to be said in your home you let it be known or have them leave, you don't start by aggravating the person.

or deciding not to host certain pieces of art and literature in your museum.

If people don't want to showcase specific relics at their museum for whatever reason that's ok. Can't say i approve but what can i do. But i was referring to actually erasing history over petty hatred and politics. Like taking down old monuments, destroying ancient sumerian texts and statues, egyptian relics etc.

Let's say there's a questionably lewd image. What gives you the right to say it's porn, this or that, and decide to censor it? For all we know it could be anything but that, and only the artist could tell you what it is because he or she is the one who made it.

Sheesh, god forbid my formalities, sharing my thoughts on the matter, and at the very least trying to send a small positive message.

I'm digging the mini passive aggressive rant.

I think you're judging what's around you by what you've seen on the internet. You simply need to go outside to see that the world is not so 'PC' or 'Alt-Right'. You're judging the lake based off of one drop of water. I think you get my point.

As far as 'censoring' history I think back to when everyone was angry about the confederate flag, the confederate generals having parks name after them and monuments in main streets. I'm not mad at changing the names of parks or moving the monuments/statues/confederate flag to museums for one reason. They lost.
