Well to tell you the truth, these novels always say things about the movie that isn't true. If you want examples I'll bring it up in a second, because they aren't written by Kishimoto.

For Naruto teh Last, when he saw Hinata in her outfit, it said Naruto was resisiting the urge to grab and touch her :|

Does that sound like Naruto to you... or?

No, because both of them competed against each other throughout their history, starting from even before the Wave Arc. You don't see that in these two at all, just a girl trying to catch up to him.

Just like I said, they were arguing with words over which animal was which, and then he sneered in her direction.

I support Sarada all the way but this seems stupid.

I don't see how that makes their rivalry bad. Naruto and Sasuke argued with words too? And what did Naruto do? He tried to catch up to Sasuke, worked hard and then managed to become a good rival. We haven't seen much of them anyway. This is just a taste of how their team works...and that does sound like Naruto. It could have meant romantically. If it meant in a pervy way then yeah Naruto is a bit of a perv.

I mean there isn't much of an argument here, even if the you disregard the novel the first trailer to the movie basically implied that Sarada is indeed the rival of Boruto.

But I do agree that Sarada's isn't absolutely Jounin level, but you can't lie if there were a comment about Boruto being anything close to Jounin level in any regards his fappers would go nuts. It seems the people are so quick to downplay anything Sarada does. I'm not exactly a fan of her fighting style because it bored me when Tsunade and Sakura fought but it's still impressive nonetheless.

The problem with that is the Kanji read Battle comrade, but translated to Rival.

Hmm interesting I wasn't aware of that. I just want the movie to come out so we can end these debates. It sucks though because I personally think Boruto would make a much more interesting MC than Naruto strictly from a fighting standpoint. His fighting style seems much more versatile. It's a shame that this will probably be the last we'll see of him.
