Well, you go to the front page of, "Game Discussions" and you see three threads about how to improve Generations. So, I thought I'd start a thread about...
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT GENERATIONS
Here's my list:
Move Cancel System:
This adds an entirely new level of depth to the game that most either love or hate. As a veteren of, "Naruto! Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3-4", I am pretty used to a move cancel system in a Naruto game and I use it often. This makes online battle, and just battles in general, much more enjoyable. You are no longer resricted to using a single combo at a time (except for the occasional combo in Storm 2 that would launch the opponent skyward and then follow them.). The depth is unbelievable when paired with the new substitution system.
Substitution Bar:
In Storm 2, I always had trouble substituting, this could be because I didn't mash the crap out of the buttons but either way, I wasn't very good at it. In Generations, it is totally fixed. Substitution is very simple to use and must be used in a strategic way. If used four times in a row, you become horribly vulnerable for a dangerous period of time. This makes you use your brain when using it, instead of simply spamming the triggers because it takes little chakra. More Depth.
Shortened Story:
Some may see this as an issue, but really, I didn't like my first four hours of gameplay to be trying to unlock all the characters just so I can use my favorites online. The story mod was short and sweet, no fancy movies (save the new animation, which I enjoyed greatly). CC2 covered it's bases and didn't draw it out.
More then one UJ for more characters:
Ever since games like Narutimate 3, fans have loved customizing their characters, giving Naruto Chidori and having a vast array of UJ. In this, CC2 explored more into this then they had with Storm 1/2. It was done in a strange way, like a seperate costume, but it was still nice to have the option of not ALWAYS having to use, say, Itachi's Totsuka Blade. Maybe you'd rather use Tsukuyomi.
Support Only Characters:
This bothered me a bit in this game. Characters who have never fought, and should NOT have a full move set should be support characters. Karin should be a support only character, where-as the Kage guards should be playable. I like the idea of support only characters, so long as they don't put bad asses like Darui as one of them.
That about sums it up.
Edit:
Oh yeah, one more.
