I still dont quite understand the shinigami badge and therfor the substitute shinigami concept.. so Im refering as much as possible on chapters so I dont mix things up

What i learned is that Ginjo and Ichigo received one.. And the badge is somewhat "weird"..

we know near to nothing about him..
except that he didnt showed his face in the most recent chapter 479..

His buddy Shunsui Kyōraku was however there and he told him Ichigo showed up:

What I found quite amusing is that their zanpakutou is made of 2 separate swords (spirit form: 2 separate spirits!)

there is one other with a dual blade: Shūhei Hisagi
the spirit form of his zanpakutou is however only made of one spirit. and his dual blade are linked.

something's fishy here I can tell

Whether they are evil or good you decide..
Ginjo made them look pretty evil.. but the last chapter convinced me otherwise..
But if thats true depends on the author ;P

Youre reading too much into it.

The Badge was only a device to monitor Ichigo and limit his reiatsu in his human form.

Could it be something more? That is impossible to tell at this point because he have absolutely nothing that hints otherwise

Ukitake didn't show up at the meeting because, likely, he was ashamed for suspecting and being suspicious of someone who ended up being their savior. He mentions how Ichigo's grown - both as a Shinigami and a man



As for Ukitake and Shishui's zanpaktou, they are not 2 spirits. They are one. A Shinigami's zanpaktou itself is a representation/manifestation of their soul. They just have duel-swords. Nothing more.

Hisagi's zanpaktou is not a duel-blade. It is one weapon. It's a modified twin-sided kusarigama.

This is different from Kyoraku and Ukitake's zanpaktou because their zanpaktou is two weapons - they have two swords.
