Lets face facts. Minato is one of the strongest ninja that ever lived. It's something we've already heard thousand times in this manga, but people are still refusing this for different reasons(either the hate of the character or his fighting style or simply not enough screentime), but what you must know is that, Kishi described Minatos capacities as unparalled. Even with the little screentime he had, what we know is that:
- When he was kid(probably not even chunin), he managed to beat 3elite ninjas from Kumo who were there to capture Kushina
- It was said in a war, where people battled for their life and for the sake of a village, so where are only send the most powerful ninjas, that they must flee away if they see Minato:
In that war, just after he came as reinforcement, against more than 50ennemies, he even managed to crush them in a flash. A ninja even says "don't even blink, not for an instant" We'll get to see the fight of the yellow flash
- During the Kyubis attack, he is not prepared for that in the contrary of his ennemy who even admits he was waiting for that since long time ago(so he prepared a plan), and he even knew about Minatos abilities but even at a disadvantage, not knowing his ennemies abilities, not even knowing his name or his face, being worried about the way to save the village, he still managed to analyse the situation quickly and find a way to beat his almost untouchable opponent in a couple of seconds. Even before beating Obito, he had time to save his son from an explosiv tag in an instant, save Kushina from the Kyubi who was about to crush her, save the village from a TBB, crush Obito in couple of seconds, come back quickly and save Hiruzen, the other ninjas, and the village again from Kyubis TBB by teleporting him and his blast somewhere else, and before that has even time to take Kushina and Naruto somewhere safe from Kyubis blast, seal Kyubi with Shiki fujin, and Naruto with 8trigramm seal, and preparing a key for his son when he will be mature enough to control Kyubis power for the sake of this world
- Kumo wanted to recover the nine-tails and to do so you need only elite ninjas like Kin-Gin for example and even probably with a large group of them, but it's said that Minato(alone) managed to put a stop on their mission
