Some characters are difficult to understand if they are good or bad characters
here are the following:

Itachi Uchiha-One of the "worst" character of Naruto Part 1-But in part 2 Tobi tells the story of Itachi to Sasuke (it was revealed that he wants peace)and helped the Allied Shinobi forces to take out Kabuto

Nagato-Leader of Akatsuki-loves peace-destroyed Konoha-revives them back :shrug:

fourth kazekage-"bad" in part 1-comforts Gaara in part 2

Danzo Shimura-Sai's superior-Konoha leader-Attempts to kill Sasuke and Tobi

Karin-Taka member-extremely difficult to understand

Suigetsu Hozuki-Taka member-extremely difficult to understand

Jugo-Taka member-extremely difficult to understand

Zabuza Momochi-Bad in part 1-later kills Gato

Haku-extremely difficult to understand

Hanzo-Antagonist-commits suicide

Most of these characters are easy to understand

Itachi is the one character that Kishi screwed up. Kishi wants readers to think of him as a loving brother and a staunchly loyal Konoha shinobi. Yet, Itachi tortured Sasuke for no reason and never helped Konoha during the YEARS he was with akatsuki.

Nagato-Leader of Akatsuki-loves peace-destroyed Konoha-revives them back :shrug:

No contradiction there. He always loved peace. Became jaded and thought war was the only way to achieve temporary peace. Had a change of heart when he met Naruto, hence why he revived Konoha shinobis back.

No contradictions there. He was a man who only treasured things of value. He saw Gaara as a failure and so expendable. In Part II, he sees Gaara has having value

Danzo Shimura-Sai's superior-Konoha leader-Attempts to kill Sasuke and Tobi

Danzou is one of the easiest guys to understand. He loves Konoha but he is a hawk. He is also self-righteous. He thinks the rules do not apply to him but overall he loves Konoha and is ready to kill anyone who does not share his view of love for Konoha.

Karin-Taka member-extremely difficult to understand

Karin is easy to understand. She is in love with Sasuke. She does not like half the things he does but her "love" blinds her and so she goes along with stuff she has reservations on

Suigetsu Hozuki-Taka member-extremely difficult to understand

Suigetsu wants to be great but he knows his limitations. So, he is using Sasuke to get the seven swords so he can be stronger. Sasuke annoys him to death but he can't do shit about it cuz Sasuke is stronger than him. He is overall more evil than the rest though

Jugo-Taka member-extremely difficult to understand

Juugo is a head case. He is a good guy, when healthy, but he adores Sasuke. So, he is willing to forget his morals for the sake of Sasuke

Zabuza Momochi-Bad in part 1-later kills Gato

Zabuza was never a bad guy.

Haku-extremely difficult to understand

Neither good nor bad. He is a true shinobi. He only does what he considers his mission

Hanzo-Antagonist-commits suicide

Hanzou is originally good. Then he lost all hope for peace and turned to the dark side. Fighting the samurai reminded him of how he used to be a good guy. So, he committed suicide to help the alliance
