Nice work. Needs blood streaming from it then.

try adding a bit of depht into the eye...

Brush - black color - color burn - ~5-10% and make a circle around the other line edges of the eye, and in the middle (iris)

then

Brush - white color - color dodge - ~15-20% and make the whole eye brighter... the eye wont seem so flatten... try it!
