terrible movie .
reason 1: cartoony animation. i never liked how they are doing the recent OVAS. it just looks plastic and video gamey thats what this movie is. a video game you cant play.
reason 2: everyone and i do mean everyone is out of character and badly written. goku is a selfish bloodlusted di ck who insults his own friends and put everyone in danger for the sake of a fight. even simply standing there and watching vegeta and bulma get brutalised just so he can see vegeta rage. he made an excuse that he wanted to strategise yet made no effort to use strategy for the rest of the movie.
he had the nerve to say "i respected vegeta a little". A LITTLE? VEGETA HELPED SAVE YOUR LIFE AND THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE A FEW YEARS AGO YOU TRASHBAG. thats not worthy of your respect? fuk you in the fukin neck goku. where is the man who liked and respected vegeta pretty much ever since namek and honored him by embracing his own saiyan heritage vs freeza? that one comment strips goku of all the development he had previously gained.
gohan is a jerkass drunk fool who who actually gets his wife mortally wounded. his PREGNANT wife. yes it was a kid holding the gun but cant gohan tell its a real one? are his senses that dulled? why did he think itd be a good idea to just send them home with a slap on the wrist after the kid ATTEMPTED TO MURDER HIM AND HIS WIFE? where was goten in all that? why didnt he deck mai on her dumb ass for trying to murder his brother? if a kid truly did that back in dragon ball fo you know what kid goku would do? punch their lights out. possibly kill them.
even at the end they are still stupid and heartless. bils promises to spare earth for later when he has enough stamina to destroy it and kill everyone, so what does everyone do? act chummy with him and invite him to parties! da faq?
hey morons! fukin morons! HE SAID HE IS GOING TO KILL YOU ALL. he is a monster who must be fought against, and stopped before he hurts more people. no better than freeza or cell. he wants to murder millions of innocent civilians. yet your friends with him? nice.
but this is battle of gods. when you need the main characters to be dumb selfish jerks, they are dumb selfish jerks.
reason 3: its just unpleasantly generic to watch. childlike ignorant little shit villain goes on a tantrum and tries to commit genocide and goku the heartless ass must fight him. there wasnt even a good reason for their initial fight. goku got so excited with the idea of destroying half his mentor's planet that he goes right ahead and does so. yeah dont bother respecting your friends or anything. thats goku's whole character in this movie. disrespect, insult and act like a blood obsessed berserker.
the fights werent well done. just the usual trash talk and punching. there was no intensity because you knew that the villain was a childish dumbass who could be calmed down with food or an halfway intelligent hero. give bils candy and he will spare a galaxy. yet we should be afraid of him. terrible.
4. the acting. its obvious these actors are old and tired. they were better 20 years ago. far better. its time to move on. or hire new people.
why did toriyama make this? 20 years and this is the best story he could come up with? just another dumb action movie for little kids to hollar at? with characters that should be heroic yet bit ch out their own comrades and act like the villains they are fighting?
