It's actually quite amusing that some hardcore Sasuke fans think Sasuke is going to defeat Naruto in the end...even though they must know it would destroy the whole concept of the series.

Naruto has to defeat Sasuke so he doesn't destroy Konoha and if possible save Sasuke from his hate and in the end Kishi wouldn't put all the character development he has put into Naruto for nothing he's purposely showing that hard work could beat any genius.
