but aside from that the sage mode going on hashis face most likely has to do with madaras normal body not being able to handle sage mode on its own similar to how orochimarus old body wasn't fully compatible so with him having hashis dna it worked and was supported by hashis cells which just so happened to be the face grafted onto his chest
