It was actually the gates that caused trouble for Tsunade in her healing of Lee. Gaara crushed his arm and leg, but the gates were what caused him the internal damage (spinal chipping, muscles snapping, etc.)

Im going with this if Naruto can replenish a eye Kakashi had ripped out why didn't he fix a broken leg. ​

Guy's body was turned to ash and got healed a move like the 8th gates is instant death kakashi's eye can't compare to that.

8 Gates literally charred his entire body and used all his body had.

I'm sure even if he got a replacement leg, using Gates is completely out of the question.

Well said, I get the emotional part of down pact, but the physical is still a blank. Trying to apply logic to it won't clear it up, logically Tsunade shouldn't or couldn't have healed herself the way she was, technically she should have been dead. Who knows, maybe her working on Lee - may have unlocked hidden truths to a new regenerative technique that she used on herself, that can heal nerves, bones, muscles and all. Mind frame wise, we could apply that to Obito who was prepared to die once he threw Kakashi away before being crushed, half his body was crushed, along with with half his skull, just as much never ending damage.

But, maybe Gates not only intensifies attacks, but damage also, that would be a clear bell.

Tsunade can literally regenerate herself( source: stated in her fight with Oro).

I agree with Lost Woods Denizen. He passed his torch and was prepared to die. I would guess he's glad to be alive and chooses not to risk what's left of his life with surgery. Now he can watch the young leaves bloom and even give them encouragement and direction. Lee could have died from the surgery after opening 5 gates. We have no idea how much of the internal damage Naruto was able to repair. Eight gates damage is probably more than Tsunade can repair. Gai was a very proud person, I can't see him having wanted WZ body parts.
