Lol, he didn't. His Zetsu were created by hooking Hashirama's Living Clone to the Mazo. He also stated that Yin-Yang Release was used in this process. The Shinju (True form of the Mazo) creates White Zetsu from human beings instead of Hashirama's cells....the missing piece that connects the two is the exact connection between Hashirama and the Shinju, because he is the only one to develop Mokuton, barring those who have the Juubi's power, which be Kaguya only.

But creating something new out of hashi DNA and infusing something already created with hashi DNA are two totally different things.

Still there are some mistakes
1. Zetsu was created before Hashi was alive.
2. They say that White Zetsu's are like plants harvested from Hashi's cells.
3. Botanical Ninja created from the first's Body.

Isnt infintie tsukuyomi derived from possessing both senju and uchiha power? Not really a lie. He summoned the Gedo Mazo which was supposed to be the moon. Makes sense why he was able to do it. The gedo created the zetsu.

Or there's another option; Essentially, there's a short background story about how Madara was introduced to Kaguya, and she elaborated about the Zetsu, and how it functions/works. She taught him how to create them, and that was the limit. She had no body, she could only be inside of Madara. She introduced herself to him, either way. ]

Maybe he was going through the whole process of Obito's. Being saved by Kaguya during his battle with Hasirama. Being brought to her place, but she was dying and someone had to continue with her plans. Maybe zetsu was the only thing keeping her alive. Who knows.
