So who knows about cars?

I had to leave my job an hour ago because of an emergency at home with a family member and it was flooded around my area and I kinda had to go through the water and my battery light temporarily came on.When I got out of the flood water and into my yard I turned my car off than turned it back on and the battery light was off. Is my car ok? I really don't know who to ask about this. I called my job to see if my co worker that knows about cars was there but he is gone so I'm asking you guys.

Well, Idk s*** about cars, but I'm pretty sure if your battery light is turned off, it means you've used too much of it (for example staying at a place with your light constantly turned on). Another car has to give yours some energy through these cable thing, I guess.
Or maybe your battery just isn't working anymore and you have to switch it out.

water probably touched something it wasn't supposed to while you where driving through. If it turned back on and the battery light stays off and everything is working and the car is running normal your fine

I had a similar situation once, just start your car and let the engine run for a while to re-charge the battery.

It actually can be a serious fix when something like that happens, always try to avoid driving in floods.

It could be the timing belt that works with your car's alternator or worst case scenario the alternator itself.
Even if the check battery light went away the problem is still there so I'd Check the charge for the battery that the alternator puts out proper volts is 13-14 if it's below 13 then you need a new alternator asap.

I got it checked out.They said it was all good.
