Do we people still believe in Jashin or?

I mean at this point it's clear Jashin will never show up or even be mentioned again so do people really think there's a giant satan god in the NV who loves sacrifices and can grant immortality..?
Why is Hidan the only person to ever practise or mention the religion? Why with all this talk of over-arching narratives and legend god-like power has the guy not been brought up if he exists? He clearly has power so

but I genuinely don't think he ever existed. Because Jashin worshippers are so insanely rare in the NV (we know exactly one) and that the likelihood of this god existing with current Naruto lore is unlikely.

My theory is that Hidan's immortality granted by doing that ritual is not a higher power, but instead an old archaic style of forbidden jutsu- one that a bunch of old people from the past mistook or created into a 'religion'. Attach a fake story/religion to it like people did the bible (cough) and boom- you have Hidan's power of immortality revealed.

You could be right, but I do wish he were a real character.

Make a thread with an ending like this and boom- we have a pointless internet fight.

Do some people just have an urge to be douches?

Yea, I'm sure you were there when they made up the 'fake story' of the bible. :|
Unlike SO6P, Jashin was never hinted as being someone who ever walked the earth. Hidan, like you stated, mentions him as some god who can grant him his immortality; SO6P can't do that. Whether jashin is real or not, it's not likely we'd ever see him because I don't think it's ever been mentioned that anyone has ever met him face to face... though it would be awesome if Jashin made an appearance T_T

Oh, also, Jashins the only recorded person we know of through naruto's life(because the story revolves around him anyway). There could've been many other persons like hidan over the years. In fact, it could be that there is only one person like that at a time because of X and Y...

Unless the mechanics of jashinism are explained, it's all speculation anyway.

He was one of those characters I wish would have been real, but sadly, don't think he's relevant anymore.

His whole relevance to the storyline ended when Hidan was buried in the beginning 50 chapters.

The bible anyway. I just don't believe in the Bible. Ignore that bit if you like, the theory still works.

Jashinism is the only true religion. You mongrels should all hail Lord Jashin! Now kneel!

Jashin is Orochimaru, AKA The Demon. Give it a few more chapters. The Jashinimaro theory will happen.

That's cause Oro/Demon does not want to be recognized. There is already proof Orochimaru lied to Hiruzen about how many bodies he has used in the past. His dimension is holding thousands of structures each representing a past body. Sarutobi also asked the question because he suspected the kid he knew as Orochimaru might just be a victim of this guy as well. Orochimaru is the oldest creature in existence, an evil more ancient than Kaguya so Hidan and Oro both represent the immortality.

so Hidan has been worshipping Oro all along? pfft.

Blind Faith = Ignorance. He would have never realised that Oro was Jashin who was in Akatsuki. That's the irony.
