No. Kisame can not compete with high tier and can barely beat the likes of Deidara, Kakuzu and Sasori; who Itachi beats with utmost ease. On top of that, Itachi can take on Pein and win, while Kisame has no such chances. He can push Obito to the highest difficulty, but most likely not win. Kisame though, is no match for him.

Pein takes him down with CT, whilst Tobi simplly outlasts him and kamuis him off

Sasori has been established by both feats and canon manga, to be easily above Deidara and most likely Kakuzu as well. In fact, he has good chances on taking Kisame down. Putting Sasori below the likes of Kakuzu is fallacious, but Deidara is mocking.

I agree with Sasori being above Deidara since that is manga fact, however the Bold is wrong,,
kakuzu is stronger than him, and he takes him down, due to his domu preventing him from poison and his masks elemental attacks overwhelming sasori and his puppets,

Perhaps you saw the recent Kisame vs Itachi thread? I saw much better arguments for Kisame than Itachi, by feats they are more or less equals with Kisame having the slight edge. I understand Itachi is your favorite character but please try to look at things from an objective perspective.

Its an established manga fact that Itachi is superior to Kisame, andd even by feats itachi is superior
Amaterasu is a nightmare for kisame and his samehada, the flames being too fast for kisame to evade and too hot for samehada to absorb,
Totsuka would also enable iitachi to finish him off, and he can also execute tsukiyomi through the use of diversions

This list is based only on feats and not hype. By feats, Sasori is beaten by both Kakuzu and Deidara.

its an established fact that Sasori is above Deidara, 'even by feats, IS and 100 Puppets allow sasori to land one blow and thats all he needs to take deidara down

There're good reasons to rate her low among the Akatsuki.

The fight you mentioned was highly situational. She had the prep, field and intel advantage, not to mention Obito didn't take her seriously from the beggining. Basically she had the advantage and still lost in a very rare scenario.
Its also strongly implied Jiraiya would've finished her off after using only one Katon, Toad Oil Bullet and effortlessly evading her paper projectiles, all in base.

Compared to other Akatsuki fighters she's just not that impressive.

When Orochimaru was in the Akatsuki, he didn't have those Edos. We are talking about Akatsuki versions of characters I'm pretty sure.

Kisame in fact can compete with a high tier, as seen by how he defeated Killer Bee - a perfect jinchuuriki who beat MS Sasuke. 30% power Kisame was putting up a good fight against Team Gai. @Underline - Itachi doesn't beat all of them with ease. Sasori definitely pushes him to high difficulty and has potential to win (personally I think Itachi would win though I have seen great arguments for Sasori). Itachi cannot push Pain past mid difficulty, this should be obvious; Itachi cannot push Obito past low difficulty, kamui is all that is needed.

B beat Taka Sasuke, who is even most likely weaker than Hebi. Full powered MS Sasuke is stronger than both B and Kisame easily. It's not even up to debate, since Taka Sasuke already gave B hard time and Kisame isn't on the level of Uchiha with MS.​

Because no decent debater for Itachi even bothered with that thread. There have been so ridiculously much threads and establishments like these and all that have been taken seriously have been debunked. People always tend to downgrade Uchiha and canon statements. Kisame had not even seen Itachi's full potential and has admitted his inferiority. It's just something not worth to bother with anymore, since there's always that one person who repeats the cycle.​

Akatsuki Orochimaru showed literally no techniques at all. By that logic, he had no techniques while in Akatsuki and should therefore be even lower than Zetsu (last) because for all we know, he had no abilities. See how that sounds?

Yes, but one can reasonably assume he would be able to use all his jutsu that he has displayed except for jutsu which we know for a fact he couldn't utilize until long after he left Akatsuki. No one is referring to Juubito or Edo Nagato or Edo Itachi or Edo Deidara (who can spam C0 to his heart's content). It would just make sense to not include Orochimaru's Part 2 Edos or his Zetsu body/abilities.
