IMO the manga is still better compared to the anime

I like the manga but I'm not into the drawing style of the manga. I feel the animation really did an outstanding job for pretty okay drawings.

To be honest its like elfen lied, Gore shonen and gore anime in generally do really well even if there not really good. The problem is hardly any gore manga or ln turn into anime and when they do they censored to all hell but doesnt stop its popularity since its always action packed.

AOT is doing so well because a decent gore anime hasnt come out in awhile and none really like to read manga anyway.
That being said its not my favorite anime, since i kinda spoiled myself with the manga already.

I don't think it's a gore.. We had Another last year itself for example.
It's mostly the shounen approach that clicks with the audience. Having a mature shounen with minimal fanservice, lots of action and practically no moe, was refreshing. IMO, it's the most less-stereotype shounen since FMA: Brotherhood.

Oh, and Elfen Lied is a seinen; not shounen.

I'd give it an 8/10 since it's only 8 episodes. That being said, if they keep this level till the 25 episodes, I think I'd generously give it a 9/10.

And as far as if it's everyone new fav. show - well, favorite for some, great for others like me. I love it; though I wished people overhyped it less...

For now, it's the most hyped and anticipated anime of 2013. Luckily, it's almost the best we've got in that first half of 2013. But in terms of quality, we might get something better by the end of 2013. Though, it'll probably end up as the most popular anime of 2013. It's nothing really new - each year, one anime really rocks hypes/popularity charts and this year, it's Shingeki no Kyojin.

I enjoy the Anime, I couldn't stand the manga :/, I stopped at the point when Eren got eaten.
Now I'm only watching the anime and it's really good. I put it at the same level as Legend of Korra in my book ^^

i just caught up with the manga and holy crap if you wanna get your mind blown i suggest you read it as well...it's a monthly release which sucks but kinda ok since i love reading 40 pages of this awesome story....don't wanna spoil but human nature is one ****'ed up shyt...the manga has horrible art work but the plot and characters make up for it. which is why the anime is so popular the animation is great man ...just great

the opening theme is the best i've seen period there hasn't been an opening since bleach (to me) that gets me so hyped to watch the anime i can show the opening theme to anyone and they would be instantly intrigued to watch the anime.

To be honest I'm just sicking with the big three and Fairy Tail, although I did read some dragon ball & Soul Eater manga awhile back.

soul eater is good, and so is claymore and so is this one ....all three i just wrote are monthly so it shouldn't conflict with your big three.... i am currently readng bleach/naruto/area D/attack on titan/claymore/soul eater .....ima start to read beserker soon everyone tells me it's kinda sick plus it's finished already all the other ones are still on going.

Emotional scenes feel forced at times it isn't needed, Poorly developed characters, so the solution is to kill them off, MC is one of the worst characters, plot is another survival of the fittest type story, which is actually a weaker point than a strong one. The only thing holding this anime up is it's animation and art. Not to mention, the method of killing a Titan feels like a contradiction to the regeneration. I have tons of problems with this show.
