So... This Tenseigan is the equivalent to Rinnegan?

Haven't been going hard on Naruto since it ended but what this about the Tenseigan that im hearing so much about? Its basically an awakened version of Byakugan and offers similar if not greater ability than the Rinnegan because you gain a chakra mode and eye powers. Pretty much a similar version to Hagoromo

Its even gained in a similar fashion to EMS/Rinnegan

It's obtained by sealing all the eyes of Hamura's descendents within the Tenseigan altar (a giant orb or something like that) and combining their powers...
Don't really know how powerful it is, though....

Tenseigan (the eyes) and it's Tenseigan Mode (similar to naruto's KCM mode) was only compared to a Rinnegan madara. As far as we've seen, the version of madara that had a legit rinnegan was single rinnegan madara. Tenseigan has destructive power, no denying that, but also so does the rinnegan. Tenori who went all out with Tenseigan is compared to single rinne madara who was restricted. Therefore, DR > Tenseigan.​

Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion

The Golden Wheel Reincarnation Explosion (金輪転生爆, Kanawa Tensei Baku) is a powerful technique utilised by Toneri Ōtsutsuki.

Usage
Toneri focuses his Tenseigan Chakra Mode into one of his Truth-Seeking Balls and grasped it into his hand to create a giant golden sword made of chakra. The power of this blade is enough to completely cut in half the moon without slowing down. It can also be shaped into a massively powerful beam of chakra.[1]

Tenseigan Chakra Mode

The Tenseigan Chakra Mode is a heightened transformation unique to those who possess the Tenseigan. Toneri Ōtsutsuki can enter the form due to being a wielder of the dōjutsu.


Appearance
While this mode is active, the user gains a chakra shroud with six magatama markings around their collar and one distinctive chakra-like horn protruding from the forehead. This form's shroud is cyan and releases chakra as flickering flames. When Toneri enters this mode, his hair spikes upwards.

This mode is said to be roughly on par with Naruto Uzumaki's Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. This form is capable of giving the user the Truth-Seeking Balls, and its chakra presumably makes the user's Truth-Seeking Balls glow green. This mode also grants the user a form of conjuration and transfiguration. It is also shown by Toneri when he make a golden cage decorated by jewelries from nowhere with aid of the chakra to held Hinata captive temporarily before he was defeated by Naruto.

It has been comfirmed that the Databook doesn't compare Madara and Toneri power. In fact Madara is only mentioned in page 21, where it is said that he stole the Mazo.

I have and am currently reading the information from the databook. This is what is said on page 19 for Toneri

Ootsutsuki Toneri: The last survivor of the Otsutsuki clan attempting to fulfill the "one thousand year agreement." The Otsutsuki clan lived on the moon and, for one thousand years, were tasked with looking after the sealed gedou mazou. Of all of the descendants the last survivor is Toneri. He, who was brought up in isolation and darkness, begins his plan to drop the moon on to the earth to fulfill the promise of his ancestors who were thrown into darkness spanning one thousand years. With the purpose of walking the world after humanity's destruction with his wife, he begins to move.

Since his birth his eyeballs have not existed. These are Hanabi's implanted eyes.
The Otsutsuki clan wedding clothes. A turban like cloth is wrapped around his head.
Hanabi's "byakugan" settle. This can be considered a so called "tenseigan chakra mode."

No where does it say that his power can be compared to Madara, on either this page, or on page 21. In fact, the only mention of Madara on page 21 is that he summoned the gedou mazo from the moon. I believe that the information in the naruto wikia is a mixture of that from both this book and perhaps that of interviews. However, for the sake of correcting any misinformation about the databook, that phrase about comparable strength is not written.

At the wikia at Toneri page they removed this and the one who did it wrote: Removed all comparisons to Rinnegan, Madara and the Senjutsu of the Six Paths due to the lack of citations. Grand statements like that are speculation unless there is a source. They didn't have a source...
