I read in a recent article that Tobi is in fact Teuchi (ramen shop owner). Teuchi was a victim of the shinobi wars and saw his parents murdered in front of his own eyes. It was then that he started to plan to bring the world to peace through his influence. The only problem was that he knew no jutsus or any kind of fighting techniques. After months of living in poverty and stealing food from bins, he came across a strange object near a booth at a ramen shop. It was a war fan with strange symbols on them. He reached to grab it, hoping to sell it for a good sum of cash but was stopped by none other than rogue ninja Uchiha Madara. Madara asked who Teuchi was and why he tried to steal his war fan. Teuchi told Madara his plans of peace and how he was too weak to execute it himself. Madara laughed as he thought it was a joke, but when he saw the look in Teuchi's eyes he knew he was serious. Madara then told Teuchi of the Moon's eye plan and how he was about to face Hashirama one last time. Madara knew that his death was near and he needed someone to continue his legacy so he trained Teuchi. After months of training, Teuchi was a fine tuned soldier able to face anyone in his path. He said goodbye to Madara and left to find some sharingan. Then everything happenned, he fought minato and killed the uchiha blah blah blah. His plan was brilliant, no one would think that a ramen seller would be the mastermind behind the akatsuki and all that stuff. Great article, you should read it
