The tree was large but not large enough to be seen from far away continents. Some people here dont seem to know about ratios.

Same reason as to why I can't see MT. Everest from my bedroom window.

the god tree was grown on the other side by the battlefield. naruto and sasuke had went back to konaha to fight at the valley of the end. they shouldn't have ended up nowhere near the god tree. although the god tree was huge, it wasn't so huge that they would have seen it from way back in the land of fire, let alone it bee so very visible. kishi needs to work on his distances.

The valley of the end is between the Fire and the Sound.
The battle ground is in Shimogakure.

EDIT:
And if you'd like to know how I know the battlefield is in Shimogakure,
go to this link and see "Strategies."

They're in Kumogakure... U_U

-Konoha to Suna

Remember back to early Part I when Teams Kakashi and Gai were on the way to Sunagakure to save Gaara, the Kazekage from Akatsuki.

Kakashi at the time stated Sunagakure to be 3 days away from Konohagakure on foot.

As we don't have actual measurements, I will give shinobi the benefit of the doubt, and simply assume their speed to be around 15 miles per hour. (~24 kilometers per hour).

Assuming roughly 8 hours of sleep per night and 2 hours per day for resting and eating, then the distance from Konoha to Sunagakure is roughly 630 Miles (1008 Kilometers).

-Disclaimer- Keep in mind that the shinobi's movement speeds may differ, but even if they only move as fast as the average human, then the distance would still be 336 Miles (546 Kilometers).

-Konoha to Kumo

Assuming the above calculation is correct, we can now assume the distance between Konoha and Kumo.

Using the above map of the Naruto world as we know it, it is plain to see that Konohagakure and Kumogakure are slightly farther apart than Konohagakure and Sunagakure.

As the Land of Lightning is where the later phase of the war took place (mainly Obito vs. Naruto and Madara vs. Naruto and Sasuke) it is safe to assume this is still roughly the same location where Sasuke and Naruto began this chapter.

Sasuke and Naruto immediately depart for the Valley of the End, where they previously fought.

Now, once again giving them the benefit of the doubt so as to eliminate any bias in my calculations, I will assume the Valley of the End's location is North East from Konohagakure, towards Kumogakure. (Although this is likely false, as Hashirama and Madara fought near a large body of water, the closest of which is the ocean to the South of Konoha, nearly a third of the distance from Konoha to Suna, while gennin managed to make it there in less than half a day.)

With that assumption, the distance between the Valley of the End and the Land of Lightning is roughly the same as the distance between Konohagakure and Sunagakure, which has previously been calculated to be an absolute minimum of 336 Miles (546 Kilometers) away.

As Naruto and Sasuke manage to make it from the Land of Lightning battle field to the Valley of the End in what seems to be seconds, we should be able to conclude that the base, casual footspeed of both characters is roughly 336 Miles per Minute (546 Kilometers per minute) or 20,160 Miles per hour (32.760 Kilometers per hour), which is absolutely ludicrous.

-TL:DR

-Konoha to Suna is a three day travel.

-Konoha to Kumo are roughly the same distance.
-The Land of Lightning to the Valley of the End is roughly the same distance.
-Sasuke and Naruto are moving at a minimum of 20,160 Miles per hour (32.760 Kilometers per hour).

Feel free to disagree, and present your opinion. Thanks for barely reading.

1) they are not continents away lol.- all. 5 shinobi nations reside in 1 continent.
- the higher up you go ge more you can see
From space you can see an entire hemisphere. /

2) you don't see Mount Everest outside your window because the earth is a sphere. If it were flat, you might be able to.

You can see stars thousands of light years away- Sasuke and naruto are high up in the mesosphere- of course they can see the god tree.

The 5 kage were fairly low to the ground, and they were are an entirely different battle fields- and the could see the god tree.

It seems like most people don't realize how large the tree is.

Look at how small the meteors carrying the biju are collared to
It. - each meteor is probabably the size of a small mountain.they look like pebbles compared to the tree.

1. Typo. They are still countries away.
2. You just soloed your own post, because the earth is a sphere and they are countries aways from the tree, they shouldnt be able to see it. You see stars thousands of light years away because its a vertical point of observation. The battles all took place in a general region reason why the tree could be seen.
3. You clearly are making shit up, that is not the mesosphere, did you go there and measure it yourself? Dont think so.

Again some people here dont understand ratios.
Those Chibaku tenses are not mountain sized, those are relatively small enough to encase the beast. You are throwing sizes out of proportion.
Dont gag to much ok?
