1) To itachi the uchiha were the bad guys who had become corrupt, it is like when your mom and dad get divorced, you dont hate either one but you have to chose one to go with. He chose the village and wanted Sasuke to live in the village that he had loved.

2) The genocide wasnt the villages idea, they were forced to do it because the uchiha was attempting a coup de tat, if your dad walks in and see's your mom cheating on him, you cant really be mad at him for asking for the divorce. Yes it was his idea, but he had no real choice.

3) Everyone already knew he killed all the uchiha, so if he had remained the fun loving brother to Sasuke something would have seemed off and further inestagation would have lead people to see that the uchiha was planning a coup de tat, itachi didnt want that, so he became the villian, and in the end felt that only an uchiha deserved to kill him, and thus trained his brother to do so but also trained him and made him strong in order to allow him to protect himself from those who would come after his eyes, like, orochimaru or danzo.

What was he supposed to do? Comfort him? Give him fake foster parents?

You know Sasuke would have rejected all of that stuff.

See, I like you- you can actually put up a good argument without being a total obnoxious twat about it :)

I dunno, I just feel like Hiruzen could've been more prominent in his life? It's just apparently we're told he was always there for everyone to help comfort them, EXCEPT THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY NEEDED IT. That's my main problem with Hiruzen, there is definitely more that he could've done for Naruto and Sasuke. He more than anyone with the S-Rank Criminal ex-student Orochimaru should know that disturbed little kids who aren't helped are dangerous. If Naruto was in anybody weaker willed I gurantee you there would've been another Kyuubi attack, nobody other than Naruto could've taken all of that abuse and loneliness and still fought back the 9 tails within him. The same goes for Sasuke, Hiruzen could've taken time out of his 'busy' schedule to personally mentor Sasuke and help him with a few techniques from time to time, been there for him or idk even acted as his councillor or something!

There was just more that could've been done for the poor kid. You can't exactly tell me Hiruzen was always a busy man. Maybe someone needs to take some time off giving nursery classes and looking in his creepy magic ball of his spying on people.

Actually, Sasuke was pretty emotionally stable. He only became so ****ed up after hearing Obito's version of the story. Itachi's decision of leaving him in Konoha did in no way harm him emotionally, since Danzo and the others were aware of what'd happen if they tried to harm Sasuke in any way.

Are you actually kidding me. Sasuke's hate for Itachi consumed his entire life.

"I don't particularly like anything, there's a very particular person I want to kill."

You think that's healthy talk for a little kid? The guy went to kill his teammate on the top of a building with the strongest technique he had. That's NOT emotionally stable. It's very clear at every point in this show that Sasuke is damaged, which is sad really as I quite like the guy sometimes.

Same with you, the thing is there are always truths on each side of a debate.

Hiruzen has always seemed cold to me. While I don't expect him to hug every kid that wants attention and crap, he could have at least checked in on Naruto and Sasuke more often.

Leaving Sasuke in the leaf surrounded by the bad people who caused the genocide like the Third and Danzo is an awful idea, an idea that led to more bad than good.

Tell me why Itachi had to make Sasuke into a psychopath avenger and didn't take Sasuke with him? It's not as if being hunted was the problem. Itachi got hunted by all the villages by joining the Akatsuki and becoming an outlaw. He could've taken his brother far away and I doubt any useless ANBU fodder or Danzo could take him out, Itachi seems pretty strong. You don't leave your brother with the psychos who made the genocide happen!

Just would've saved a lot of trouble, maybe Itachi's awful Sasuke plan wouldn't have worked out so badly if he'd actually thought it through.
He has a nice pair of eyes that thousands of other Shinobi would have killed him for.

Itachi ruined Sasuke's childhood by mentally torturing him once when he was just a slip of a 8 year old innocent boy, and then when he was only 13. You don't think him fueling his hatred had any repercussions on Sauke's personality or emotions?

If your parents get divorced, you don´t necessarily need to hate any of them. You can go with both. Idiot.
