So tell me now why you all cast aside the anime, like if it isn't cannon.

I have been wondering about this for some time now. IMO I think all the anime apart from filler and adjustments are cannon.

The anime is the final project the manga is the story guide Lol the manga is the story board done by the author so they could make the anime if they didn't have a story board they couldn't make the anime so you see it is need for making the anime. But the anime is the final project :p and i get what you are saying but it isn't that way i didn't say fillers were cannon either but you explained i there thanks

But we both disagree with each other this is crazy :p
The animation studio just does it all for money. You often see that if an anime adaptation of a manga is not successful in Japan, it will be dropped. How could it be the final product if it's dropped like that but the mangaka still persists? I think we will have to respectfully agree to disagree.

I understand what you are saying but the amime is cannon through and through but i can't speak for fillers but i don't think that was a filler where he met utakata at all that would be the only reasonable explanation.

I get that, but i was just trying to point something out :)
Lol, you cant give a reply with something to say back to my post? Seems like I solo'ed the thread.

I can't agree to disagree. I am sticking with the anime is cannon with the excepting of fillers :p You got your opinion but the facts say the anime is the real thing.

In short both are animes, the original anime followed it's own story-line after it reached the manga. And later there was a second anime made which follows the manga for 100%. I was interested in which one in your opinion would be considered canon XD.

FMA:Brotherhood.
You don't have to tell me what is considered canon, I just wanted to ask the OP :p

The one that follows the manga would be cannon cause the manga is a guide in making the anime and what not. But when you say it followed it's own story-line after it reached the manga what do you mean. As i said the manga is needed to make the anime so if it followed its own story line then there still was a story board(a manga) that was used as a guide it nay not have been published so there may have not been a manga for that which is why it is said to follow its own story line cause if its not than then i am baffled right now

Here is the reason manga is canon and anime is not. You keep saying that Kishi is writing the manga to be animated, but he is not. Kishi is writing the manga to create a story.

When Kishi started writing Naruto it wasn't being animated right then. The animators saw that his manga was popular and struck a deal with him to be able to animate it. So in this case the animators are taking the original "canon" and adapting it, thus the anime is not canon.

If the animators had gone to Kishi and said "we want you to write a manga for us so we can animate it" then I can be argued that the anime is canon, but that's not what happened.

Manga is canon.

Well the anime was almost at the same point as the manga, however instead of going on hiatus the studio created it's own story. The main villain of the original anime was a completely different villain than in the manga. Not even their genders were the same.
